You're comparing primary resources, used by all your basic actions to a secondary, shared resource which is used by party-based actions. Party members can still perform their own roles even if they're not the ones triggering the LB. The BLM "sharing" the LB bar with his party does not stop the BLM from performing his role.

You're presuming that content will not be designed around the existence of LBs. If LBs are needed (as a practical matter) to defeat certain content, then this is basically like having Battle Voice or Benediction on a party-shared timer.

If "arguing" (quotation marks here for a reason) with your members about the best way to do something with them is not appealing at all, perhaps you're playing the wrong type of game. If you're not interested in figuring out how to do things with your party, then don't do party-based content.

Again, if you're only planning on playing in statics with your LS, more power to you. I don't particularly look forward to having to explain to every Content Finder group (potentially in multiple languages), "hey, can you not use our Limit Break because it's needed for strategy x or because it's a useful failsafe?" Instead, this will be something that needs to be explicitly spelled out any time you're partied with someone new. (This is in contrast to, say, "2hr-type abilities"; if there's a specific 2hr that you need for a run, that's always going to come up, but otherwise, stupid people wasting their own inessential 2hrs is not as much of a group concern.)

Not really, no. Setting aside the historical context of LBs, if you have to be in a party to execute them, then they are, by definition, a party mechanic. And if SE wanted to emphasize teamwork, then they can implement significant power/effect differences between LBs depending on how many party members cooperate.

I'd prefer a system where party members cooperate to combine resources than a system where one person unilaterally consumes a shared party resource.
