Way late to comment on the Q&A's but holy crap at the "We'll look into it". They should've organized it with every question first, and then one single response from SE: "We'll look into it..."

I wonder how many people are actively playing this game right now. I haven't logged on since the rage quit in November or so, but it seems like this game just makes people angry and bored even when they try so hard to see a bright side (game potential?). I mean when I still played it, I remember I had to watch almost an entire season of Dexter just to make it through crafting sessions. This lack of communication to the players that actually care about FFXIV must make them go crazy. Heck I'm a little ticked/surprised that I don't get to read anything, and I don't ever want to play again :/.

Yeah, I don't really understand the rationale behind getting so emotionally invested about the game at this point. On the other hand, seeing little siatdiat-juniors popping up is comical.

Maybe it's because I don't play? I don't understand why they do though, if only the constant communication is keeping them going.

Surely we aren't assuming they are sitting on their ass though?

I don't play either, but at some point I'd like to, and I'd like to play a product that at least somewhat resembles the "quality" that XI had. I mean, it shouldn't be hard; old game is old and future tech is future, but yeah, here we are.

lol I watched all of battlestar galactica, true blood, and I'm on dexter season 2 in the past 1-1.5 months just crafting. It's the only way to get through the grind.

This is exactly why I stopped "playing" lol. seriously any developer would be embarrassed to call this their "game". what I don't get at all is why do it if its not even fun and you need to do something else just to pass the time. . . almost sounds like you guys are getting paid! , I want in on that.

Yeah I am curious to the people who do still play the game and why. A lot of the mechanics just feel like a "work-grind" rather than a "play-grind". I don't know how to describe the difference... but I was more than happy to spend like 6 straight hours doing Sobek NM's for my Empyrean and I didn't need a TV show to help me get through it. When ever I did leves, EXP (I exped back when SP was still stupid-hard-mode), or craft I needed something to help me get through the boredom.

The Producer letters always seem to get me a little more interested in the potential of the game. The bad thing is it just gets me to think "oh cool now this game may have similar functionality to WoW/Rift/FFXI/TERA/Starwars/GuildWars/Hello Kitty Island Adventures... 2 years down the road". That's the huge problem though, because all these other games are way ahead and will continue to try and improve and that gap between FFXIV and them won't get smaller.

I want to see updates/info being delivered way quicker but maybe its unreasonable to expect that from SE.

Shh, you'll anger the fanboys of crafting because its such an "innovative system" that offers such stellar gameplay that delivers a thought provoking process where most people are either watching netflix or some t.v shows while spamming the confirm button on standard synthesis!

I miss a ton of tells lol... had a few people sit there and start buggin me thinking I was afk. I usually just let them continue when I notice. Maybe if I filtered synth results or something I'd notice people talking more. It's really a lot of work to talk to people though when crafting since I use a controller <.<. Gotta like.. put down the controller... and pull the KB tray out... then type. Screw that.

I still play from time to time but only to try and rank up so I can enjoy (if that's the correct term anymore) the new content they add. Doing it all solo isn't exactly fun and hitting fatigue after a few leves is even worse. My PC can barely handle the game.. I just wish they'd fix the game and release the PS3 version already.

I honestly wouldn't suggest people to start playing now, even to prepare for the next patch with job/battle updates. Better to experience it when it's good imo.

Dude. It's a lot of work talking when you craft even if you use KB 100%. I do the same. If it's someone I give more than a poo about, I'll answer and usually tell them to just get on vent, lol. Otherwise, gtfo. It did lead to the awesomeness of being accused of botting by a guy with 4 crafts, 2 DoW, and 1 DoL@50. Like...I have my 50 craft; I have my 50 battle. That was my goal before all the big changes, so having met that I've been taking it slow. Most of the time that I do actually get to it and get some work done is when new info comes out or there's a patch. I go all "oh ya i is excite," to "oh ya i is bored," in a couple of days or so.

Even if we break off some of the content and release it ahead of time in a 1.17b patch (which me might!), 1.18 will still go live sometime in mid-June at the earliest. Sorry for that.

Yeah now i know why I cringed when I read that the first time. There's certainly enough leeway in there for this to get dragged out til July.

Also, I don't see any justification in playing this now. I honestly won't even take it seriously until people start coming back and new players start coming in. If that's not until PS3 release then so be it. If it never releases, hey I haven't played since Jan so I didn't waste my time.

All they need to do is let us know whats going on.

"Hey, we're working on having auto attack, job system, stamina removed, etc; all done by 1.18. We're also working on xyz too but that might have to wait till the next patch. Finally we're working on abc but that deff won't be ready till 1.19 or later. As for the new system we plan on mobs being more difficult to kill while also rewarding more sp. By doing this we hope players find battling monsters more rewarding instead of easy and repetitive. We're reworking BR's by efg to make it more skill based instead of a simple que up and execute. Server latency is a big thing we've been working on and expect jkl to be almost completely lag free by 1.19. With 1.18 you can expect (running out of letters) to be much smoother than before".

I mean there's a lot more detail they could give. I realize they might not know what they can have out for 1.18 but at least giving some detail with where they're heading and what they expect the outcome to be would give players a lot more of an idea whats going on and what to expect. It'll also allow some feedback to be given.

Could be anyones guess lol. I think it will be at the point they release PS3 >.>. The new battle upgrade and job system, provided BLU is included, is promising tho :D
