Apparently SE does not believe Canada is part of North America. For any Canucks unable to register the promo code:

This issue has been resolved for Canadians. Here's the solution:

a) Register for a US PSN Account
b) Download the beta client using your provided code on this new account
c) SWITCH over to your regular Canadian PSN account
d) Launch the beta client, and link your Square Enix account to your PSN account

What I've read on the beta forums says not available in the "first part" of phase 3. We don't yet know if they'll have it ready by next weekend.

Others have said you can import your character's appearance, but no levels/items/anything_useful.

It looks like my download is hanging at about 90%. If I hit cancel, am I gonna have to re-download it all again, anyone know? My download speed and the size of the update aren't being displayed anymore, so I don't know if it's actually doing anything.

My download tanked last night at around 40%. I opened it up this morning and I think it started back up at 40%. I don't say this with extreme confidence, but I thiiiink you're safe to close it.

Yeah, it ended up being okay. After having to re-download it all earlier when my power went out, I was a bit cautious. Fired it back up (had to shut my PS3 down, cancel button wasn't working) and I only have about 900 MBs left to go. I think the cancel button got broke because they seem to have changed the login for it. Now it appears right where all the downloading information appears instead of getting its own screen.
