Soo is it just me or is dungeon xp severely nerfed? or is is that the first time through gives lower xp due to it being part of the mission? That really would not make sense them making it that low if they want us to use dungeons as xp content.
Maybe I am an odd ball, but I personally hated it in games with dungeon grinding when I got so much xp grinding a dungeon that I leveled past all the gear rewards from it. I personally enjoy maxing out my gear as I level, and I think that is pretty common trait for all long time FF players. I was out all day today but going to give it a go tomorrow and see exactly how "bad" it is.
Another reason power leveling all 7 classes in 1.0 was the way to go
Do not like different classes starting in entirely different zones. =/ Leveling with friends basically is impossible until 15-20 I guess, according to what I saw on the forums, depending on class choices. Always been a fan of leveling together and enjoying it all as a duo/trio/whatever.

Of course EXP is going to be increased in beta. They need you to move through content quickly so you can test the content. This is going to be a longer beta so the exp rates are going to be slower. I imagine retail will be even slower.
This was very stupid, yes. But the problem is much more than just not being able to play with friends, it's not having access to jobs outside of your starting city.
I started in LL and I don't think I've seen a single person on a class other than MRD (@ lvl 15). Obviously at launch we'll have ACN and all but being restricted from classes with skills and abilities you need was just dumb as hell. The early game is obviously geared towards solo (which I think is fine) but without access to other classes and their skills it becomes much harder.
I haven't really been keeping up but have they said anything about Phase 3 and 4 opening up beyond the weekends? I could barely play phases 1 and 2 due to weekend stuff.

Can you be more specific? I had trouble patching (as in Phase 1 and 2). The old [11006][20641][20643]. This time it deletes the patches and tries to redo them automatically. It uses some kind of caching and tries to re-build and re-unpack it. It's not fully redownloading it every time (thankfully). I'm really not sure what's going on here but just retrying it over and over, it finally worked without my intervention.
I was able to get to Gridania from Ul'Dah easily enough, but can you not go to Limsa until far enough on main quest chain? Ferry guy says says come back later or something to that effect.
There's nothing really difficult about progressing your first job to 10 (which is the limit for armoury lockout) and then getting 15. Up until 15 everything can be solo'd provided you have current gear. I agree with everything else you're saying though, but difficulty due to lack of cross class skills isn't really one of them.
Maybe it's me, but I prefer the way they have it. If you're a new player, you're gonna learn your class then when you hit 15, that's when group dynamics happen. Also, it feels more natural to choose a starting class, level it for a bit, then seek out the other guilds to unlock classes. It's just a bit more work in the beginning.
I gotta admit... I'm liking all of the changes. However, playing the PS3 version was a test in patience. The game runs like ass.
