Nice. Thanks.
This shits so fun, but I feel kind of guilty. I'm in a beta test but I've had zero problems, so I haven't reported shit.

Yoshi P's very long post about his design philosophy has been officially translated on the beta forums. A good read if you have the time.
Oh, there are problems; this thread and the Beta Impressions thread have detailed them. Regardless, it's a pretty solid experience so far.
Can't do it; cannot play another SE product where I have to sit for long periods of time waiting for party slots to fill for whatever. No no no, Ifrit; you won't be done by me this beta. Not until Duty Finder is up and running. I'm not doing this again. I did that shit for years in XI; never again with an SE product.
So, how do you fire of THM's Limit Break? I hit the button, placed the circle, but couldn't get it to fire off.
How many people do you need in the party to fire off your limit break?
Light party you get one bar
Light Party + Last boss in dungeon you get 2 bars
Full Party you get 2 bars
Full Party + Boss (Or last boss i dont know) 3 Bars
afaik
BTW if anyone needs after you complete the main quest scenario present in beta there are npcs that will raise a second unlocked class to 15
Swaenhylt in Camp Drybone(Eastern Thanalan) for Thaumaturge
Wihtred in Hyrstmill(North Shroud) for Conjurer
Aniud in Hawthorne Hut(East Shroud) above the town for Lancer
Chechezan in Horizon Camp(Western Thanalan) for Gladiator (Thanks Relisa!)
Zacheus in Little Solace (East Shroud) for Archer
Urswyrst in Moraby Drydocks(Lower Noscea) outside gate near Chocobo Porter for Marauder
Adelard at the South Hammer(Western Thanalan)(20,27) for Pugilist
I thought it was to discourage people from skipping main scenario (which gives you free airship pass) before going to LL. Like the airship passes in XI.
They confirmed on the forums that it's a bug.
'Intentional' wouldn't make sense, since there's no such blockade between Uldah and Grid and some people might want to go change jobs as soon as lv10 or something.
Metal Gear Solid reference in level 15 story quest cutscene. "Mad Snake! Mad Snaaaaaaaaaaaake!! Answer me!"
While reading that recent article Yoshida wrote:
I'm somehow very glad to hear him spell it out so succinctly like that. Truly a breath of fresh air, not to mention refreshingly honest overall as a director.Another common phenomenon among MMO players is something I like to call "first love syndrome." A new game comes out and you play from beta through to the free trial, and although there are a lot of things you like, you always go back to your first MMO. You feel the updates were always so much better in your first MMO, focusing on the things you can no longer do in the other games you try. This is just how people are after playing a particular game for a long time, getting stuck in their old ways
I'm sure anyone who's had to change schools because of their parents or change jobs because of company troubles can relate. Suddenly finding yourself in a new environment can be stressful, and there's always that desire to go back to the way things used to be. Even small details reminiscent of "the good old days" can be reassuring.
I'm a bit frustrated with the beta forums atm.
Anyone else finding it very hard to leave feedback and bug reports with that hour long CD+750 character limit they insist we need on every forum?
I went to post a bug report covering several things, then went to make my post concerning repairs still being unnecessarily clunky. Lo and behold, an hour wait. When I do get to post I can't post everything I want to have my point thoroughly explained. How do you assist with feedback and reports if they don't let you give them lol?
The wait between posts is horrible.
I head you can get around the 750 limit by editing your posts and adding stuff to them though.
