    The Relic Quest information has been known since phase 2 as well, about the time information about Phase 3 was being thrown out about Jobs being available but not the quests, until Phase 4.     Yeah that thread hasn't been too helpful recently.

    When you say endgame dungeons does this include the ones we had access to in 1.0 like Dark Hold, Cutters Cry or are you just referring to the new ones that are being added. I just assumed that the 50 content from 1.0 would be available again during phase 4.

    You are so right Waraji. My take on it is like this, things constantly change throughout the beta test phases, there were many things that were "confirmed" to be there in one test phase that had been moved to another phase. This is why I usually repost confirmations by the devs (yes sometimes not with links) when it is most recent. Since nothing is ever set in stone during a beta test, I always take the most recent info over something confirmed at an earlier time.

    Duty finder and level sync were previously confirmed for phase 4 (now in phase 3), while Free company points moved to phase 4. Stuff like that.

    The beta forums are the worst, when it comes to people wanting to be spoon fed everything.

    Why am I not surprised that's in French. Assuming that's France and not French-Canadian, their ping can't be that great; what did they expect?

    Best solution I could propose is to gauge the ping of the user, and try to extrapolate the client-side position based off their current movement direction plus their expected delay when the move goes off. Here's hoping, I guess.

    I'm in Texas and I haven't noticed enough problems with the current system to complain.

    I expect a "we do the best we can, but we can't make it perfect, so we're not going to change anything" answer.

    Was this stated anywhere? I thought it was said they wouldn't throw this back in the game till release.

    I think it's that the damage registers way before the ring fades and damage/effects are shown, similar to how your Overpower damage will register way before your animation/numbers, not interrupting sleep when it seems it should.

    Well, the first screenshot above shows the user completely outside the circle, and the move not yet completed. Unless you're saying the damage is figured before the bar even maxes out, then I don't think that can be the case.

    Now, if you're saying that the bar progress is off, then you're back to ping.


    Ah, yeah it could be the position thing. Has anyone run that circle test in 2.0? Obviously there's no video, but you could still summarize.

    WTF are you being serious ?

    Let's assume for one sec you're right (you're not) and that the ping/routing is the issue here, Europeans are supposed to be like "Oh well, since SE went for servers in NA (Montreal?) and JP only instead of NA EU and JP I guess I should accept to deal with crappy server responsiveness! Do you really think thats what people playing a SE P2P game are gonna think ?

    Well, if you go to a restaurant and they say "All we have is dirty plates." and you go ahead and indulge yourself...

    In that case, should they be rallying for EU servers? Yeah, of course, but in the mean time, yes they should expect it to happen. If you're so certain it's not ping, then please indulge me on the only cause of this that it could possibly be, because right now, all I can envision are estimates, of which ping is a valid one.

    Except that being able to play from EU on NA servers with pretty decent ping/routing is something you should expect in 2013. Hell, we played FFXI on JP servers no problems, or some Lineage2 on western NA servers no problems either, and that was a decade ago. Then again i'm pretty sure the routing isn't the problem right now (SE is way too competent/experienced for that to happen..) but the way you're seeing things is just.. wow..

    I'm not sure you realize for how long so many European players have been playing NA hosted games without any problem whatsoever until game editors started offering EU based servers. Seriously lol at the idea it'd be acceptable for SE to have Europe as a whole not having the best gaming experience on their NA servers.

    It's pretty common that beta servers are a bit laggy/not offering best responsiveness because of some processes taking place on servers during beta phases specifically. Not sure what exactly, but I know as a general rule it's a lot smoother when game goes live.
    So I dont think we should sweat it too much at this point

    yes this, im praying this shit is just server side for beta testing then will be client for Release. Last night died to a self destruct from a bomb during the lvl 30 dungeon. my friends and i were still eating eruptions in ifrit time to time.. ( i have 4 ifrit weapons from 100+ runs i shouldn't have issues walking out of eruptions.. after all this time). It felt like the hit-boxes of the actual moves are bigger than the visual

    Interesting point, they are probably running non-release debugging code on their servers which would indeed slow things down.

    Yes. I've tested it at my house with my friend next to me. It's not /as/ bad as 1.0, but it's still there and jumps were delayed by about 1~1.5 seconds.
