Running out of AoEs on BRD moves your songs out of range potentially, losing couple ticks. On top of BRD already having -20% damage while singing. Otherwise that's fairly accurate, nothing to stop you from running around and shooting on ARC/BRD.

I don't know a great deal about BRD, but how often are you singing? It seems you just sing mage's ballad, your MP runs out and then you're done unless you have ethers etc.

We used to have the option in Alpha and I think Beta 1 so it's possibly just not activated at the moment.

I'm iffy with the whole BLM playstyle. It's utterly boring as hell to play if fights end up becoming tank and spanks not to mention a string on bad luck kills your dps entirely if Firestarter or Thundercloud don't proc. As far as movement is concerned though, BLM does have Manaward and Manawall that allows you to tank some hits so you can stay static and keep casting so along with a stoneskin, you have options to keep casting unless content starts to become pure one-shots.

For example, "Red XIII" who appeared in FFVII.
I believe we mentioned "Red XIV" as a joke before, but Red XIII has a very rare and specific role in the world of FFVII. If he was wandering around the world of Eorzea it would destroy the image of the world of FFVII, so this can’t happen.
This is just a simple example of what we mean.

Currently, you need BRDx2 for fulltime singing.

Is the old world map no longer correct or is this just a lore error?

The map is the same as it was in 1.0. Might not be visible in the world map but maybe the regional will show it surrounded by water.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Sharlayan has never before been described as being on an island whatsoever. I'm guessing they might ret-con that to be true since it would make a tiny bit more sense that Sharlayan has been generally isolated from the rest of Eorzea and managed to fly under Garlean radar for the most part.

Then again, like I said once, I'm still convinced that this line must have been a mistake (or it'll be retconned). The Circle of Knowing bros make no mention of their city being destroyed or even threatened that I can't think of. Sadly Rocl is not around to fact-check me.

As for the question... it's an island-nation BECAUSE IT'S ON A FLOATING ISLAND OBVIOUSLY. In all seriousness, we'll find out what's up eventually. The website description felt a little odd to me too.

Yeah, I must have missed that line... that's the first I've ever heard of Sharlayan being destroyed. I had understood that they were scholarly pacifists/recluses and generally ignored by Garlemald.

It's only mentioned by an NPC in Britlebark. Nobody else anywhere else says anything about it, which is why I'm wary of accepting it as canon.

I thought Sharlayan was the nation, but part of the nation was Louisoux's crew The Circle of Knowing, which chilled on the island. There's an island on the map. I think it's part of Sharlayan territory, but the island is strictly for the Circle of Knowing.

The names that are on the banners/scrolls are all city-states.

I believe that makes Sharlayan technically in Dravania and the only region that's largely undescribed is Xelphatol.

What about Pagith'an?

I must've missed out on that, unless it's being talked about in the beta dialogue, which I've been speed-clicking with the intent of consuming at a normal pace at launch. It's a particularly odd omission too since it looks very much "on the way" to Thanalan/Black Shroud if you're not going through Mor Dhona.

There's also some of the outliers like The Ciedalaes and the smaller regions east of Pagith'an. I believe it's been mentioned that the Lalafell came to La Noscea from the Ciedalaes, but that's all I recall, and I remember nothing being said about Mazlava or Theueari/"The Ueari".

Still kinda wish The Black Shroud had taken the Japanese name after the Calamity, I like Tinolqa better.

What about Pagith'an?

I thought Pagith'an was supposed to just be a big desert, but I might be mixing it up with the desert south of Ul'dah.

Apparently it was only mentioned once as where the Amal'jaa were from (you're actually taken there by the Amal'jaa from Broken Water, along with your Path Companion in 1.0, and brought back).

Similarly, Xelphatol was only mentioned as where the Ixali originate from.

If he said (or was supposed to say) Ala Mhigo, that would make a lot more sense.
