I remember that line with Ala Mhigo though, are you sure it wasn't changed later on?

I don't recall that NPC ever mentioning Ala Mhigo, and I'm pretty sure he was added after the 7UE events began. (Mor Dhona and Coerthas NPCs got changed around quite a bit) It also makes more sense that Sharlayan's lakes would dry up than Ala Mhigos (if you just look at the map itself)

As for the bit about the island I was under the impression that the Sharlayans abandoned Eorzea around/right before the fall of Ala Mhigo and the only niggas who stayed behind were out neck tattooed Circle of Knowing. I do believe one of the Knowing bros mentions this fact in 2.0; but I'm not positive--gonna go through my 800 screenshots of NPC dialogue later to see. Anyways, the Sharalayan of Eorzea was an outpost/colony is what I'm trying to say and it may be very well Sharlayan proper was an island.

The only Sharlayans presently in Eorzea are the Circle of Knowing.
