Still think it'd be smarter either to not give the preorders the early access, or to stagger early access between CE/Legacy/1.0 fakers/Preorders/Release. Not because of special privilege or serfdom for the peasants, but because then it lets people get away from the starter instances more quickly and makes the initial logon period smoother.

IIRC, the 1.0 CE buyers were supposed to get a week of early access in 1.0 but everything was so unstable that in the end they only got like a day and a half, and by that time the horse was out of the barn.

but thats what i think Phase 4 is supposed to be though, hopefully any server issues are hammered out

Eh, it was actually pretty decent when they started charging for it.
I definitely felt it was worth the cash.

I, like mostly everyone else, only played 1.0. By the time Yoshi-P came around SE had 100% lost any trust I had in them for the game. They made the smart choice. Literally the only way they were going to salvage the game and make it profitable was rebuilding it from the ground up to try and strip the bad name Tanaka put on it. And it's working so far.

The main reason I stayed was to be part of something that rarely ever, if ever, happens in the gaming industry. It was nothing short of a treat experiencing the game trying to grow up from the failed abortion of a birth that they called release.

The majority of the ones who stayed behind, and willingly paid for the game, not only saw its potential, but have great respect for the craft that is game making.

Sorry if you don't particularly jive with that sort of thing. Have fun on your non-legacy server, paying your non-legacy subscription.

Legacy, Feels Good Man. I too thought about paying the $45, then I did, realizing I was paying $45 for playing the game for about 2 years.

Actually for the Legacy payments, we had the 9.99 or w/e discount, and had bulk payment discounts on top of that. so it was something around 29.99 to get legacy, and an additional payment to have played through all of the subscription period. (I took a break the first month I remember now.)

We already have Phase 4 and Early access to help alleviate crowds in starter zones for official release. I don't see the need for further staggering after these two. Has an MMO ever done that? I'm not talking something like XI where it was released to different regions at different times, but what was outlined in an earlier post.
