Most people probably just signed up for legacy status because of the discount. Hell, that was the main draw for me, and I was actually enjoying myself in 1.0 to some extent.

I don't think he sounds bitter. Most of the people I'm playing with are legacy players, even from the BG guild and are re-rolling on non-lagacy servers. It's actually not that mind boggling.

BTW, what was the sub price back then and is there a discount for being a legacy player now?

At first game was like 12.99 iirc + 1$ per character
When shit hit the fan they dropped it at like 9.99+1$ per character

Now they removed the +1$ per character and this is what it will cost

No legacy player should be ~special~ about making a bad consumer decision. Next time, realize that money speaks, stop supporting bad development and maybe we'll end up with more ARR's and less 1.0's.

Once again: without the legacy players, there would likely be no ARR as SE would have seen the project as throwing good money after bad.

I would not be surprised if a lot of people paid them during 1.0 mostly so 2.0 would happen. The fees started after they announced ARR...

I know I would not have given them any money had ARR not been in the horizon. I did have some fun during 1.0 but I'll never be caught saying that I thought it was a good game.

Legacy is an account thing and you pay your fees regardless of your where your characters are (for example, you'd still get charged monthly even without characters on your account) so I'm pretty sure the discount will apply no matter where your characters are.

Yeah, I really don't see the point in the standard membership in a game like this. Who exactly needs multiple characters in a game where you can level everything?

Yoshida said FF players are used to a lower monthly fee for a single character, so he added it just for them. That's the point of the Entry fee.
