The only reason anyone would get an open beta invite is if they haven't used their closed beta invite, or they were never invited to any closed betas before.

Yeah a few friends and such signed up for beta but never had FFXIV before so they didnt get into phase 3. I think if you already have a SE account and were in the beta you are good otherwise they are sending out codes

I got 2 separate codes sent to my accounts email after playing for 2 weeks and just got one reminding me I hadn't used the code they sent me. Probably why people are getting confused, Square sucks.

I doubt you will need a code for the open beta. It has been plainly stated months ago that all you will need is an SE account for P4. There will be download links and adverts everywhere on their official sites.

He's asking for a code, meaning he did not apply for the beta. You can't apply for the beta anymore, not until P4.

Stop spreading damn misinformation about not needing codes. Tell your friends to sign up. The SE website even says sign up before the deadline. Open beta = No NDA, not "everyone and everyone allowed in". If they had unrestricted access, there would be 1-2 million people trying to cram into the small amount of servers SE has and no one would get to play. Be glad there's codes needed.

I told them to sign up and a few did but 2 didnt / werent interested at the time until he realized we were all playing it now he wants in but you can no longer sign up for the beta as per the 22nd. And the emails are saying people who have to register codes need to by the 30th (if you were already in the beta like me and most of the people here, we dont need codes we are still in the beta)

I have a few family members who signed up for the ps3 beta weeks ago and have yet to get a ps3 code though.

From the sounds of it, it seems everyone who signed up for the beta are getting emails either actual codes for the pc or emails saying they are going to get them for the ps3. But it is no longer possible to actually sign up for the beta. The wording is stupid weird cause it says

That just means they've closed beta registrations from now until when Phase 4 begins. The most likely reasoning for this is so that they're able to properly prepare their servers for Open Beta. The last thing they want now is a terribly laggy start to open beta after 1.0. It'll still be laggy, but I'm sure they're doing what they can to minimize latency and login issues for Open Beta, Early Access, and Launch. So, I'd just be patient and see what they're going to do after Phase 4 begins.
