THM healing is not even an option if Duty Finder won't start because the game won't place you in a dungeon until a CNJ has been found.

Of course, you can just shout for parties, but if Duty Finder is crippled (pre-30) because of a bottleneck at exactly one class, that's a pretty big impact on the game.

I hate to say this but we have to place some faith in SE. We are all concerned because of 1.0s release and how "it will be fixed for release" didnt work in that case but here I think SE knows, they implemented ACN for the purpose of another healer. It would sort of defeat the purpose of adding a healer if we still only have 1 healer pre-30. I thought in a recent screenshot we saw the ACN symbol and it was green or was it the SCH symbol.

We are fretting over info datamined from a benchmark, it could be half complete. Just remember this isnt conclusive. Its only logical for us to act this way sure but we have to give the ARR team more credit and at least try not to spread panic and hysteria. Come P4 and ACN is not queuable as a healer then we can cause a panic.

I'd be surprised if it could considering that the game doesn't seem to have any option for you to choose what you queue as and ACN does not have any heals... only SCH does.

Wonder if there is any connection to the benchmark and dataminded info. Maybe they are still tweaking ACN heals.

I visit MMO-Champion a lot and they datamine the hell out of the PTR and Ive seen blue post responding to datamined feedback mostly saying, its still in testing and that info is datamined and not 100% going to happen or intended.

Looking at ACN it's not an option for it either (0 healing spells before SCH), so who cares? No one, that's who. We can only discuss this on the case of whether or not ACN is capable of doing the job, and it can with little set up (probably with the prep work it should be doing anyway.) There being a duty finder bottleneck is a function of how classes are typed, but it's only as bad as people make it. If people actually willing to get CNJ to lvl 2 after they hit lvl 10 on a class (incidentally, conj will probably be SCH's lvl 15 class), then that + MP sustain = healer until shit gets real. Content-wise, shit will get real at the exact point another healer becomes available.

Most people levelling ACN probably won't even touch SCH and stick to SMN. I figure if I wanted to play healer I'd be on WHM. SMN on the other hand is more of a continuation of my class.

I have every intention of levelling SCH but not sure on SMN. I want different types of healing available.

I loved disc priest when I was playing WoW back in cata. I could be a caster and heal as I was doing it. SCH really seems like a mix between disc priest and shadow priest, even has a dot-spreader (shadow had that, right?).

Why are you stuck on this point? I already acknowledged that THM/ACN can lowbie heal:

even if you're a THM or ACN with Cure subbed and you could mainheal a lowbie group, you're still slotted as DD.

The problem is not that THM/ACN can't heal; it's that even if you are THM/ACN and fully prepped to mainheal, it doesn't matter because Duty Finder won't start until there is a CNJ in your party anyway.

EXCEPT THAT DUTY FINDER WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO ENTER THE INSTANCE UNTIL YOU HAVE A CNJ IN YOUR GROUP, NO MATTER HOW WELL PREPARED YOU ARE.

Again, it doesn't matter if you're a completely self-sufficient DD with Cure and Stoneskin and potions and ethers... Duty Finder still requires that you have a CNJ to enter, at which point all of your extra self-healing prep is unnecessary. So unless you're shouting for parties yourself, Duty Finder means you wait in line for CNJ to spawn.

Duty finder should really allow you to set a role for classes and jobs capable of playing more than one. But here we are back to making everything simple for MMO virgins. I imagine it would also create whining. "Why can THM play 2 roles but my LNC can't wahhhh wahhh".

And it is good to see SCH isn't going to be ignored like I thought.

I wonder if ACN will be able to set stat points for both SMN and SCH or you'll have to pick one and respec every single time you wanna switch. ACN and SMN share the same stats for the most part (INT) but SCHs want MND to boost their cures. At least they get their own books with MND boosts.

I don't know why they went and got rid of individual stats for jobs in ARR. Though it's possible it just wasn't ready in phase 3. In 1.23 what you say would have been possible.

I see people saying ACN can heal, ACN can't heal. Does the 1st Carbuncle you get have healing capabilities?

Yes it does ACN can probably heal

The question is how good the Carbuncle Heal can do, ACN could probably be a backup healer for small events but I doubt ACN will heal in big dungeons or primal fights
