Source for Kripp?
He doesn't really find exploits as much as he just finds the easiest/best way to do something (by literally playing the game 18 hours a day). He finds out about exploits just via word of mouth and usually partakes just for the lulz. Then gets banned and makes a new account if the game is good.
Actually renews some interest in XIV for me. source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1-R...DZf6OB4aV6a3eA
I wanna fuck a fairy
Kripp says in that video that XIV's gameplay looks like "complete shit" but he wants to check it out anyway for whatever reason.
Good, we don't need 'em.
I find this thread with the updated comments to be very useful and informative. There is quite a bit of information that escapes other sites and a lot of them seem to be posted here.
He mentions a reason, pretty much it looks like shit but that doesnt mean it is shit, he is trying to give it a chance. Now I dont know this guy I dont watch streamers but I think he is the best type of noob considering he is uninitiated to a SE/Asian MMO. Most western PC might take a 3 second look at XIV and say its weeboo trash and be a dick. He does that but at least he keeps an open mind to it also.
Look at the beta forums its a good example of a mix of people (FFXI vets/players with the abyss of mindless gamers that play every game that comes out / gamers that are looking for that lasting game akin to Everquest or WoW or whatever the nostalgia. I call these players the Zerg)
This guy at least recognizes that the market is in need of some overdue quality games that last but doesnt put all his eggs in the XIV basket.
11/10 would read againI expected them from reading the scholar abilities, but i'm not sure I like this. What do faeries have to do with a scholar? And how did scholars even begin to wield power over them? Why would a scholar do so in the first place? I thought scholars directly utilized the powers of grimoires and tomes to cast spells. Why wouldn't it be some type of forest guardian job who enlists the help of faeries?
Something's wrong here. No.
They decided to push the scholar into a group of summoning classes. It's like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. He don't go there.
Not to mention they seemed to have messed up the names. A conjurer, perhaps, should have been the carbuncle class (hence conjuring) and arcanist doesn't quite fit either.
Why does Scholar have to be anything other than what it is? I didn't say it has to follow the norms of any specific ff title, but it should be subject so some degree of boundary as to where its powers stem. Why call it a scholar at all if its powers are not learned from its study of tomes, as is the normal nature of a scholar.
Call it something else if its a wielder of fairy powers. Because that certainly is NOT a scholar. Unless now we're arguing that the definition of a word can be changed within a game universe.
That "lore" says that, yes, they are educated and yes, they control faeries. .... ... ....... still waiting on how and why that even happened. What do scholars have to do with fairies?
I feel like I walked into a church and said "there is no God"
...a lot of pushback, but no substance.
I apologize if I came off as fervent and aggressive, but I'm just sitting, chilling and petting my dog. I still hold that scholars and faeries don't mix. UNLESSS we haven't seen the fairy forest yet. Maybe faeries are librarians and they help out scholars with finding books and such. Now THAT I can get behind.
Those damn ninjas using scrolls and symbols to summon causing all this mayhem! Confirmed SCH becomes NINJA. Wait, Ninja should not be able to summon! damnit

I would have preferred that Scholar was more about studying and knowledge (i.e. science) than freaking pixie dust but I'll get over it.
or summon books

conjurer to summoner does make more sense, but it's not that deep.
I like that people want an explanation about what a job is why it does shit without doing class or job quests. You know, where they fill you in on the lore. Well, it's mostly just excuses to bitch that FF thing #1413513 isn't just right, lol.
I'd assume they studied for the knowledge to use pixies? I dunno, if you had a manual for controlling a flying thing to do your bidding, what would you assume?
Is the 8th gonna be just a letter? or a video?
And if it's the latter do we know what time it starts?
Oh nice 8 AM EST thx
