How do you know it wont Start friday / Saturday? I dont really think its this week either but the 10th (saturday also remember Japan is like half a day ahead of us) 10-17 P4, 17-20 Downtime, 20-27th Early Access.

P4 really depends on how long they plan Early Access to last and whether they want some downtime for last minute changes. If it's really only going to be a week then the prime start times are this weekend or next weekend.

I was thinking the anywhere between the 11th-20th would be "prime" for P4. Give or take some downtime and how long Early access is.

It just seems like their timetable has changed at this point. We haven't heard anything yet, and I don't know if they'll announce a beta test to start less than 24 hours after Thursday's live letter.
It also sounds unlikely that early access will be a week long, but all of that being said, I hope you're right because this wait is killing me haha... It's been what, 4 weeks now since P3 now? >.<

I think he is trying to say from the roadmap (I dont think there was a month of downtime planed between P2-P3 and P3-P4 it was only suppose to be a couple weeks)

Along with the beta application site reopening on the 17th doesnt make sense along with the leaked into that Early Access will be a week and SE revoked it. They are obviously keeping a tight lid on it considering for any real testing or to still "keep on schedule" it would have to start within the next 7-12 days and considering they still havent sent out PS3 P4 keys, announced any dates for Early access or beta and they would still need some time to compile feedback / fix anything from the 4th phase without making it pretty much useless.

Edit: The logical explanation is they are saving all their eggs for the live letter, which is part hopeful and part "cmon SE you are running out of time" I dont think it is illogical to think the P4 can start as soon as a few days after the live letter considering that would be the "prime" time to get the tests / launch rolling.

Yeah, road map had it at 1-2 weeks in between betas and open beta lasting 1-2 weeks. Was always a bullshit estimate of what was supposed to happen. Hope no one took it too seriously since it was obviously not gonna stay loyal to the dates they set.

They said it already but yeah... look at the roadmap they had up and you'll see what I mean.
Not that anyone was expecting it to be exactly like it... hell it said P3 was gonna be like 2 weeks and it ended up being 5 weekends. But yeah, gimme my P4 already SE!

I like that people want an explanation about what a job is why it does shit without doing class or job quests. You know, where they fill you in on the lore.

It's a fairy. You may recognize them from children's tales and other things not traditionally associated with higher learning.

I'd assume they studied for the knowledge to use pixies?

And Summoner/Arcanist/Thaumaturge/etc. didn't study for their roles? THM had a mountain of tomes to read in their class quests.

You can apply studying to nearly anything. As Takiwaki said, magitek would have been a perfect choice: the application of scientific study to magical principles. But instead, SCH has fairies as pets. I wouldn't really consider Beastmaster a scholar of controlling beasts, but that's me.

That all being said, it's a minor issue. And maybe they'll patch it all up by saying they are Magitek Androids that just look like fairies!

I just want them to have sort of closure as to why SCH choose to summon and control fairies over other things. It could simply be, because they rather be more supportive (tactical) than combative, and using fairies allow them to excel at that. I just hope they give a good backstory, and not leave it hanging and seemingly tacked on. One of SEs strong points is lore and story so I really have high hopes of them filling it out.

Maybe SCH use them as assistants, 'extra hands' when working with magitek.
