Sounds just like what Nobunaga would do in all those other video games. Seems legit!
Except that's not what has happened. Scholar still has their books, iconic AF, and traditional healing/support magic. The addition is a Fairy pet.
It would be more similar to having a Samurai with their katana, iconic AF, sword arts, and the addition of Kogoro to provide attack support.
Your inside-the-box imagination is so limited. Your version of Samurai can't even use math skill!
No Coke! Pepsi!
Im on the FF wiki looking at the list of jobs (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/L...l_Fantasy_Jobs)
I put * to show how likely I IMAGINE them as being able to actually heal
BLU * They've healed with certain abilities its far fetched but possible
Chemist *** Implementation is key here, I agree with a previous poster about having chemist have abilities that act like consumables but dont really cost.
Dancer **** Im not a fan of dancer but they have healed in previous games, its possible
Oracle **** Someone mentioned it, its also obscure enough to fit in like SCH
RDM * Like BLU them being strictly a healer wouldn't fit right but they can. I wish they had a support role honestly
Sage / Seer **** Like Oracle obscure but not unknown
Time Mage ** Buffer / Debuffer / healer (returning to an uninjured state)
Cleric / Divine Knight / Holy Knight / white monk / bishop *** A Melee healer, always liked the idea and some games did them well, and some games didn't...
Im not saying these all work, but the job system is way more versatile then some of you give credit.
Ninja should heal, cause Naruto had ninjas with healing ninjutsu.
Then Musketeer could heal too, since you get these medics in FPS, some even shoot at you to heal you.
Wow obvious trolls that contribute nothing to the thread how do you feel about being internet cancer?
At least add something to the debate or change the topic to something else we can argue mindlessly about.
I know you are being facetious, but FFT Samurai is pretty close to what you were joking about. Had long range magic attacks and support buffs/debuffs and could even heal. Also they could wear robes <_< (Lordly Robes being one of their best armors before the PSP remake). Just saying it's not like they haven't broken the mold before.
Time mage could work well via damage bubbles and redirection .
Game need more guns.
More guns. Guns all day. Future space guns that shoot tiny mandagoras with boxing gloves.
Seems like you've never touched a FF MMO before. Dear god, comments like this are beyond stupid (just like anyone complaining about fairies).
Is it possible to discuss something without one side or the other (or both in this case) making stupid claims?
If you don't like the FF saga or its fans you shouldn't even be here or wanting to play a FF MMO and if you don't like summoning fairies because you're too "manly" or "it doesn't make sense!" you can always skip SCH entirely. There's no way to be attached to a job that barely makes three appearances in 14 main games so get over it already.
Que?
Fast forward 20 years:
Final fantasy 20 online is announced. Sch's do not summon fairies. Community fucking shits themselves that square enix didn't stick with tradition.
This discussion occurs only reverse.
All y'all mother fuckers should be happy we'll have something to do when we're 75+ years old. I don't know how that applies here but I just thought about it.
