The consensus here in Boston is "euphoria".

Lackey is completely despised for several reasons, the least of which is "he sucks".

Third edit, because my hatred for this man knows no bounds.

General reasons he's hated.

- Two possible outcomes to his starts. He gets shelled, or he turns in a very mediocre performance (like six innings, 4 runs). If he get shelled, he sneers on his way back to the dugout. If he is mediocre, then gets pulled, he sneers and barks at Tito on the way back to the dugout.

- He'll give up line drive after line drive, but then yells and screams at team members if they make an error while he's pitching.

- He'll justify giving up 8 runs by blaming it all on a botched double play.

- He'll give up 8 runs, and the Red Sox will lose 8-7. His defense of the situation will be "I kept them in the game".

- When the Red Sox beat the Angels in the 2008 ALDS, Lackey sneered at his postgame press confrence and offered up quotes like, "We lost to a team that’s not better than us, we are a better team than they are", "Sunday night they scored three runs on a pop fly that was called a hit, which was a joke" and "Monday night they scored on a broken-bat ground ball and a fly ball that anywhere else in America is an out, and he’s fist-pumping on second base like he did something great."

Baseball has some of the most unathletic people in all of professional sports. I remember watching the ALCS with a friend of mine and once when Miguel Cabrera came to the plate, I said "this guy is dangerous. He won the AL batting title this year and hits every thrown his way." My friend replied, "But has he ever hit a gym?" Just looking at those Lackey pictures reminds me how sloppy and unathletic some baseball players are. CC Sabathia DO NOT WANT.
