Yanks picked up Swisher+Cano's options, no big surprise
I am.
But I don't go by the philosophy of It's better to have gone and lost then to have never gone at all.
Especially considering how embarrassing it was for the rangers.
Hmmm, two straight world series appearanes, or no appearances since 1945/no series win since 1908 to go along with two straight 5th place finishes...
Yeah, Cubs are better off, because at least they have Theo Epstein.
A good place to end this year's baseball season thread.. the following Red Sox players have filed for free agency:
David Ortiz
Jonathan Papelbon
Eric Bedard
Tim Wakefield
Jason Varitek
J.D. Drew
Conor Jackson
Trever Miller
What, no off-season/trade/signing talk?
David Ortiz: Keep, have Youk stay at third with Aviles/Lowrie giving him some time off to avoid injury.the following Red Sox players have filed for free agency:
Jonathan Papelbon: Keep.
Eric Bedard: Rather not keep, crossing my fingers for Oswalt and Darvish.
Tim Wakefield: See Bedard. I like the guy, but it's time to move on.
Jason Varitek: Let him walk/retire. Go with Salty/Lavarnway in 2012.
J.D. Drew: Let him walk/retire.
Conor Jackson: Meh. Might be a decent bat off the bench. Probably better options.
Trever Miller: Let him walk. He has good stuff, but has never figured it out.
He has a point. If you trash talk Cowboy fans for bring up their championships in the 90s but praise the Bears for making it to the NFC championship last year, then you have no room to talk. Oh, different rules for a different sport or different rules because it's you?
Dumb baseball fan.
I think any argument's silly. Cubs fans are still blaming one single fan for ruining their WS chances, and that was before they even had a chance to get TO the World Series, lol
but yeah, good idea to provoke Rangers fans after they had a chance to pull in their first title ever.. of course they're mad. if it were the Braves, I'd be mad
Was talking to Francisco. Dude is hating on THEO like a spurned lover.
Ahh
in other actual news, LaRussa is stepping down.
whoa really?
That surprised me when I woke up this morning. I figured he would be one of those managers who retired when he died.
Braves traded Lowe to the Indians

And we're paying part of his salary. I would have been okay as long as we got 1$ out of the deal, so thank you jesus.
I'm gonna miss that drunken streak buster.
I will not.
