Does it count if I'm paying attention and still failing miserably because I have no idea how to play fantasy baseball?

naw that's cool, everyone has to start sometime lol. I just mean there's like 2-3? guys who actually havent even updated rosters. Also don't feel bad, there's a couple of guys who are new to the fantasy baseball stuff.
For next year, why don't we do both a H2H and Roto? I've never done H2h but as long as people are actually interested and it doesn't take 8 years to set up the league I'll do both. Maybe I'll take the time to check out the Yahoo system too, I used to play fantasy baseball there, but used ESPN since that's what we used last time. I mean the systems can't be that different.
Even though there is a fantasy thread (isn't there?) I was tempted to join up this year but I felt apprehensive because I don't really know how it all works. Maybe next year I'll hop on and play with you guys though, if it's okay to have a newb.
Everyone's a noob at one point. Only reason I'm used to roto style is about 18 years ago I did fantasy baseball with my dad and it was a roto league. Good old days where everyone called the commish and got ten minutes to leave a message on the answering machine your moves for the week.
I'd be fine with doing H2H and Roto next year. And people not checking their team is a common thing, lol. I check every day/every other day.. but I can see how it'd get annoying/boring.
As for noobs.. nah. Just go out and pick your favorite players, lol. It's no big deal.
And fuck less players. 12+ players or bust. I'm in a 10 team league with another forum I'm on and oh my god it's brutally easy. I'm like 23-7-1 H2H over there right now, lol
Idk what you did to your team but not only did you kick me out of first but I've lost like 12 points over the last two weeks lol. Also yea I know what you mean about people not checking, I check once a night but that's cuz I like to watch some of my guys play, started to watch since I got the free mlb.tv thing with the show. I just get annoyed like, with some guys who have had guys on the dl since the start of the year and havent made any roster moves at all lol. It's like, why sign up? :<
I'm still playing catchup from a horrible 2 first couple of weeks in the league. Keep bouncing between 5th and 7th right now.
I dunno, maybe I'm just used to standard lineups. It just seems to make sense having your offense be the 8 positions and a utility player. Having 13 offensive players just seems weird. Again, maybe it's just me.
EDIT: I also usually do 12 team leagues as well, which seems just right in terms of people not being able to get absurdly good teams
'
Don't think I did anything really special. Benched a guy, started another.. moving them around, but nothing really massive in pick-ups. Oh.. I picked up Sam Fuld. He's been win. But it's early so don't sweat it, lol
Well, if you have 8 offensive positions + a UTIL.. the shit on the waiver wire would be too good for a 12 team league, honestly. Basically.. add 4-5 offensive guys per team in our league to the waiver wire, and that's what we'd see in the free agency pool. :/ Just too absurd. That's why people usually do 3-5 OF spots, plus the 2B/SS and 1B/3B slots.
Having two leagues sounds good, maybe then I'll actually be able to sign up before all the spots are taken. Actually last year I could have joined, but didn't because I knew I'd miss the draft.
I missed one of my drafts this year and I got Tommy Hanson, Jorge De La Rosa, Joel Hanrahan, and 5 middle relievers. I shit you not the team I got was that bad.
Soriano blows another game for the starters, wasting 9 mil must feel good.
alright put in my claim on utley hopefully i'll get him when he clears on thursday, but I am #8 in the order. :/
:*(
I think he's got family in one of the towns hit hard by the tornadoes so it's understandable that he's taking a leave.
