He certainly hasn't been the greatest pitcher around Atlanta but he does throw 200 innings every year with a near-4.00 ERA.... there's some value in that. Like any sinkerballer he gets murdered if he doesn't have good stuff on a given day. Beyond stupid to go out drinking though... and you know he'll get off with a slap on the wrist and a few days of suspension.

With all the injuries around baseball and just how hard it is to develop and maintain starting pitching these days... guys who can go out and pitch every 5 days will make a LOT of money even if they're just mediocre. Fangraphs had Lowe's value higher than guys like Erwin Santana, Phil Hughes, Brett Cecil, James Shields and Trevor Cahill last year. Still not worth his salary though

God know. At least last year, Shields had one of his worst years ever. Hughes had a great first half, slipped in the second.. I think Santana was hurt to start the year? Cahill and Cecil.. A's and Blue Jays respectively I think? Don't know enough about them to really make a call.
