Verlander went 5.2 innings with a no-hitter after throwing one his last start. Pretty impressive.

Happy Xmas, Phillies.
Dan Uggla fucking blows. And don't get me started on that "right down the middle strike that wasn't called a strike' call. Ugh. Those type of losses make me rage.
The Phillies had no business winning that game, lol. What a wild game.

I wanted to draft him, but went another direction after he was taken ahead of me and I've been in first for a while even without him and his 'below the mendoza line' average. It's amazing how a player can bash the Braves every year, and then you get that player on your team and he fucking blows, lol. I've got Prado at 2B in both of my leagues since he's 2B/3B/OF and I can play him in a lot of spots.
Semi off-topic but is there a way to see who the announcers are for Fox sports? Sheer curiosity, I'm watch sox/yanks now and just want to know who's calling the game.
Joe Buck and Tim McCarver I'm sure. So you're not missing much.
Also, Jorge Posada is a pussy. An hour before the game, he was set to bat 9th, and he refused to do that, took himself out of the lineup and 'pitched a hissy fit'
Is it consistently the same pair of announcers each Fox sports game? Or a different pair each broadcast? I wish they lumped it in with the game information. Lineups, pitchers, game time and announcers.
Pretty much all Posada is good for now is whining. His bat has gone to hell so he can't hit for crap aside from the occasional home run so he's a poor excuse for a DH now and he always sucked behind the plate so you can't put him back there. Guys getting 13 million for the year you play where they tell you to and you bat where they tell you to. Spoiled brat.
Well, they usually have regional games (west coast, sometimes the Braves are on like against the Phillies and so on) so they'll send different teams out to different games. If the Yanks/Red Sox are playing, it's nearly always Buck and McCarver.. and Joe Buck usually pairs with McCarver if he's calling a game that week as it is.
Agreed. I haven't liked Posada in forever, and now he's coming out with 'my back was stiff.' Yeah.. sure. That and you were whining like a pussy.
It was his wife saying that which is even more of a bitch move. Haven't heard his side of the story yet, though.
Posada's been pretty awful this year but he was solid last year even despite the bad catching defense. Some guys just fall off a cliff, not surprising it happened to the 39 year old catcher-turned-DH
Yeah, you know it's bad when a Yankee fan even admits how big of a bitch move something is.. lol. I saw his wife say that and just rolled my eyes.
All lies...old man Posada took the night off because there was a Murder She Wrote marathon that he wanted to catch and his DVR was full.
Its going to be interesting to see if they put him in the 9 spot tomorrow and how he reacts.
The postgame was a shitshow really, Posada contradicted himself (got on cashman for making a statement mid-game then said he never told them about his back issues) and I still don't know why Cash made a statement in the middle of the game.
Late response, but this has been a problem in some of my leagues before. I have been the commish for a friends money league(football) the past few years and it is a thankless job. There is at least one trade that starts a shitstorm every year.
I had to make our league commish-veto only, otherwise people get veto happy and knock down every trade that isn't perfectly even.
I have found your view to be correct: let the trade go unless there is obvious collusion/very unbalanced. Multiple times as commish I have really wanted to veto trades because someone was getting raped, when it actually ended up helping them even if it was due to sheer luck.
I don't think he had a choice really. Apparently Posada had a huge outburst about the whole situation. He refused to talk to anyone and only came up with the excuse after the game. Not to mention that I think Cashman wanted to suspend him and then pursue the breach of contract. But Cashman himself doesn't appear to have the power he used to in the organization and was probably told not to suspend him immediately. If I was cash though I'd do it and make an example out of Posada, because that's some straight bullshit. You're hitting 160 on the season and have the balls to complain? lol. Make an example out of posada now and save yourself headaches in the future with Jeter and others.
