i dont think he was trying to hurt posey or anything like that, but when you launch yourself at a catcher while running fullspeed (he basically left his feet), it's asking for the catcher to be injured. catcher's already easily take the majority of the beatings, plays at the plate shouldn't be this dangerous

Yeah.. I still don't think Posey would have been hurt that bad if he'd have been better positioned. But asking for a rule change just because of this incident.. that'd be silly. There's been tons of collisions like that over time without tons of injuries. This was just a freak thing.

He didn't break posey's clavicle or give him a concussion. Dude got his leg caught under him, which could've happened whether he speared him or not.

Ehh teams do that all the time to get votes in for both teams. I remember in 09 when there was a push to get Sandoval into the game the giants teamed up with I think Cleveland for votes.
