Just got back and I enjoyed it a lot. Chase sequences were honestly the best parts and seeing walter Bryan Cranston kick some ass.

They honestly could of scraped the recall part and name it something else and it would have worked. I liked the synthetics mainly.

I recently watched the original as I'd never seen it, and I just don't see why everyone says the movie is brilliant, great, etc etc. I'll concede, I'm not into movies with catchy one liners or cheekiness.

No interest in seeing the new version either, especially since it's pg-13.

I never used to, but after the abomination that was Live Free or Die Hard, I take it into consideration.

I liked it. Not as good as the original as you don't really connect with the characters as much but it's good action porn when all is said and done. The special effects were top notch and it's PG-13 because (semi-spoilery but not really)

robots are a central plot point so most of the action is shooting robots and not people

The original was better in its commentary, wit, violence, and storytelling. And for 1990 the special effects were pretty awesome. I feel like in this one they made the city and the backdrops more of a character than the actual characters but it was still good fun and worth seeing in the theater.

Edit: And the mindfuck was better portrayed in the original as well.

I fell asleep for about 15 minutes near the end of the movie, and honestly, I don't feel like I missed any plot. They didn't make me care enough about what was going on to really be that into it. It was a good movie, nothing was necessarily bad about it. It was just not enthralling.
