Source Code (MC: 74, RT: 91%)

Go see it. Very well done movie.

    It's like a serious sci-fi 'Groundhog Day".

The only thing I would have preferred would have been to have it end about 5 minutes earlier. The ending wasn't really necessary.

I thought I hated the ending til they revealed how it was accomplished. I loved the movie. Lived up to the hype it's been getting.

Doesn't this remind anyone else of that Denzel Washington movie Deja Vu?

I had an older thread about it here:
    http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/100...ht=source+code

But it like died. I plan on seeing it soon. One of those movies that could possibly be spoiled Dumbledore style.

I thought that ending at the frozen kiss would have left us wondering like the ending of Inception, which I really liked.

I figure ending it that way they can have a sequel! It appeared to me that the captain was the only dude the source code worked with and that he would be forced to replay it over and over and over, creating multiple universes infinitely. Which is a nice Quantum Leap-ish sort of idea I suppose.

I guessed the dude was dead-ish about the second Goodwin scene.

I didn't get why they had a video and audio feed to the captain and only a text feed coming back. Also, when that doctor took over it didn't look like he was looking in the direction of the screen to see what he had wrote.

Reminded me of an old style text game.

I really hate the search function! I did a forum search but a bajillion threads came up, I think because of 'code'. Possibly also 'source'

So, it looked good but it looked like it was going to be bogged down by the love story, anyone's thoughts on that? Seems to me only gays women and tyche commented so far so I wasn't sure how to take it.

The romance is mostly between Jake Gyllenhaal and his love of exploding passenger trains.

The romance was quite downplayed. It was secondary to the sciencey stuff and the action. Michelle Monaghan was lovely in the role, very subtle and believable.

I saw it today also, 4 out of 5 stars from me. If it would have ended where OP said it could have been 5 stars. And the chick in this movie is fine as fuck, just throwing that out there

    Anyone else feel that:

    Spoiler: show
Sean Fentress got screwed? Poor dude, either died in the original timeline or lost his body to Stevens in the new one.

Definitely would have been better to cut the ending short. Was expecting it to fade to black at that point, too.

Not really, I don't think Sean Fentress got screwed. If CPT Colter Stevens had not saved the day by disarming the bomb and the failsafe and captured Derek Frost via the source code, the guy would have died anyway. The timeline was altered sure, but he owes his life to Colter, so Colter gets to bang his coffee date.

Oh ya I had a question:

    Spoiler: show
At the end why did he ask her if she believed in fate when they were looking at that big reflecting piece of art (or w/e it was)

^It's because he sees that place every time he 'goes back in.'

More and more I think about it, worst ending of the year.

I think they did it the way they did to avoid the ambiguity of Inception, and therefore avoid being compared to that movie.

    Spoiler: show
I think that they also needed to show the bit with the email and Goodwin at the end as well. The rest of the ending went with that.

Of course, I'd have still been happy with the movie if it had ended a few minutes earlier, like I said.

    About Sean & Stevens:
    Spoiler: show
I thought that eventually the two would merge, a la 'Twice in a Lifetime', and he would gain the original Sean's memories eventually and never remember being Stevens. That's extrapolating a lot out of the ending though.
