Friend's first time drinking and smoking (What should we do?)

I like how you said discussions instead of studies.

I have been known to very aggressively argue against any anti-marijuana mindset by providing an exhausting amount of actual reference information. You can, if you wish, sift through my posting history to find those discussions I refer to -- the ones which use actual studies as reference (and which also explain why there is an unfortunate dearth of studies, too).

I do not want to do this every single time someone chooses to argue against something while having no knowledge of the subject itself, but you're welcome to do your homework if you would like.

Smoking any substance is not good for your lungs regardless of the lack of ammonia/rat jerky that can be found in other smokeables like cigarettes. Smoking will damage your lungs, which is not good for your overall health and inhibits your ability to be as physically capable/active as you could be. Smoking destroys the cilia in your body, this makes it INFINITELY harder for you to recover from sicknesses that would affect a normal person healthy for a week or so, for example pneumonia/flu etc any respiratory illness really because you have literally destroyed your bodies natural way of fighting off these illnesses. So instead of the cilia hanging out in your esophogous with their mucus coating catching stuff in them and keeping them there until you cough them out that shit is just constantly flowing into your body with nothing to hinder it, which is why pneumonia and the flu pretty much wreck most stoners for a month+. HOWEVER if a person was using a vaporizer to get high then this is all moot for the most part. But uhhh yea smoking weed is bad for you and you have to be a complete fucking moron along the same vein as the people that say "it comes from the ground bro its natural and safe" if you believe otherwise. Or you could just drink some hemlock tea and see how safe the world of natural plants are.

As mentioned above, I would not consider myself one of those people, and you may sift through my history to find evidence of that. I'm not here to discuss these things in-depth with every single member of BG (though that does seem necessary, at times).

Although your post was quite the ill-edited mouthful, I did see your mention of a vaporizer, which is good, and for that, I'll continue with a more serious response. Yes, vaporizers essentially nullify the damage caused by inhaling smoke. However, equating marijuana smoking to cigarette smoking through stating "smoking any substance is not good for your lungs regardless of the lack of ammonia/rat jerky that can be found in other smokeables like cigarettes" is, in fact, a misleading and ignorant statement.

Moderate smoking of marijuana appears to pose minimal danger to the lungs. Like tobacco smoke, marijuana smoke contains a number of irritants and carcinogens. But marijuana users typically smoke much less often than tobacco smokers, and over time, inhale much less smoke. As a result, the risk of serious lung damage should be lower in marijuana smokers. There have been no reports of lung cancer related solely to marijuana, and in a large study presented to the American Thoracic Society in 2006, even heavy users of smoked marijuana were found not to have any increased risk of lung cancer. Unlike heavy tobacco smokers, heavy marijuana smokers exhibit no obstruction of the lung's small airway. That indicates that people will not develop emphysema from smoking marijuana.

If you will read what I wrote above, none of it contradicts what has been quoted. I understand entirely well that smoke can cause damage, but it is not nearly as catastrophic as you imply -- in fact, hardly so.

I quit smoking weed after high school, but from what I remember, the best to do, at least while high, is have an ample supply of tasty snacks, plenty of drinks, I always enjoyed smoking cigs afterwards, and either watching a cliche stoner movie (Grandma's Boy, Half Baked, Pineapple Express, etc.,) or playing video games. I loved paying FFXI hammered drunk. I could sit in shitty XP parties and not care at all, cause I was drunk I would recommend this for a first timer. Even after smoking for a few months, paranoia would set in once in awhile, and it takes away from the enjoyment, and as stated by a previous poster, you want to be comfortable while you're breaking the law.

As far as drinking goes, don't do alcohol. I can almost guarantee he'll lose his shit. Beer is easier to control and you can usually stop drinking before you get so blitzed you're projectile vomiting all over your/his house.

BTW, this was written under the pretense you and your friend are both underage high school kids. If you're not, my apologies. I just wouldn't expect this kind of question from an adult, nor have I met a 'str8 edge' adult. I think we just call it not doing drugs lol... Whatever, I'm 25, not like I'm all old and shit.

I wasn't sure what would be good for a first timer one because my first time was muddled from cross buzzing and two because I'm not huge into either the weed nor the drinking scene. I assumed that we would probably end up playing video games and watching movies, but I figured it could hurt to ask for other opinions on what we could/should do. idk how its difficult to find something to do, chances are you can do what you normally do except you'd have more fun with it.

i enjoy smoking then gaming online, or watch a comedy, or listen to music, hell you could go for a drive, thats fun as shit to me

i don't drink often, but when i do, its just a few people hanging out and chit chatting for hours.
