This season is shaping up to be better than the first 2.

So, just started watching this from season 1... liking it so far. It's dark, but I don't feel like I need a shower after watching it (at least not yet, though The Cage and El Diablo episodes came close). It's always fun to see a show set in Seattle, and noticing some of the details-- the places are mostly places I recognize, at least when they name them, but other things, like accusing her of eating too much Del Taco... well, we don't have any in Seattle. The way that they depict rain is a very Eastern idea of what rain is; Seattle sometimes gets that heavy, bouncing rain, but it's mostly a lingering drizzle, even if it's sometimes a heavy drizzle. I like that there is so much focus on the importance of the waterfront in Seattle... for all that Microsoft, Amazon, Boeing and Starbucks get the name recognition, the ports in Seattle are massively important to the city... it's not glamorous, it's just old-fashioned trade, but the amount of trade that comes through the city is truly staggering. Also, as a personal pet "yay!" the talks of infrastructure have my nerd-boner up... I did a lot of research into Seattle's city planning in college, particularly as a result of the Kingdome, Safeco, and (then) Qwest stadiums, all of which are (or were) near the waterfront. The infrastructure debate in this city is unbelievably complex, and the one thing I really came to a conclusion about regarding it is that no one really knows what the hell to do about it. So yeah. I'm loving the little details that are both accurate and understated, and those that just are inaccurate but put in to connect to other parts of the country. Avoiding reading the rest of this thread until I'm caught up but for now, I'm hooked.

A lot of the show is filmed in Seattle and Vancouver, BC. Canada.

The ability that this show has of jumping from being intriguing to borderline stupid within a span of one episode is astonishing.

From the top of my head and just from episode 5.
    Spoiler: show
    • Holder thinking that the hotel owner is in a relationship with the pedo dude.
    • Not tracking where the missed call originated from. Instead just accepting the fact that the missing girl tried to call her mom.
    • The cops not checking where the girl came from and just sitting idle until Linden came in to check. Even Holder told her they should go the other way.
    • The pedo randomly turning on the girl's phone.
    • The mom's reaction.

Seems like talk about this show is pretty dead on this board but they really stepped it up this season in my opinion. The scene with the other inmate last night was one of the best things I can remember seeing on TV...

Honestly, every time this thread gets bumped i'm expecting the announcement of a cancellation - and the announcement of another shitty show like Smalltown Security.

I think Holder breaking down was pretty well done.

Was behind one episode until tonight, but I agree Holder's collapse was indeed well done. Two left, and I have high hopes.

Are we sure there is a season 4 at all?

    What a way to end.

Wow, absolutely didn't realize that the finale was going to be last night as I misunderstood the ad for it at the end of last week. They said "Only two hours left!" and so I assumed 2 more episodes. Wow. Put the pieces together super early in the episode, as I am sure you all did, but it was still great.

and while this was no breaking bad and I felt the kid running away episode was a filler episode, I didn't otherwise hate the show. Someone mentioned the detective being an awful actress, I actually like her however I haven't seen her in anything else so who knows if she's a one trick pony or not

I stopped reading posts after Qal's January 2012 post marked spoiler (thank you), and I'm looking forward to finding out if Belko fired a shot or not. While I may not agree with Bill Simmon's piece, it's a fantastically written lambaste and I feel like there's a point when a piece of writing goes beyond something submitted for publication or trying to gain the most hits or whatever

I felt the hate, he didn't have to write as much as he did, or go into the amount of detail he went into, but he did. That was belly rage, from deep down, and it was an amazing read lol. It almost makes me want to read his book about basketball, and I don't even give a shit about basketball

here goes nothin, season 2 time
