It absolutely is a bit much lol, nearly half the merits you can hold at a given time for 1 increase. But in the grand scheme of things yeah it's a minor nuisance at best.

And no, my Gem progress has been horrendously slow >.<; largely due to lack of aid. Been trying to get into a half decent shell for over 2 weeks now but I'm convinced that either the majority of the good shells either aren't recruiting or just plain don't want me which is pushing me more and more towards paying the stupid $30 to switch servers, even though I'd be leaving all my "friends" behind.

You are literally the worst player on BG and even if you server transfer, you still will not get people to help you, especially if you shout in Jeuno.

Then again, maybe you'll luck out and SE will add +2 items to Carabosse so you can finally recruit random people for your cause.

But you'll still be terrible, wishing SE would increase merit limits and/or decreasing Attribute merit cost.

In 5 months you could have solo'd the KI's for Carabsosse and solo brewed them if you wanted them that badly and couldn't find help. Sure it would take ridiculous amounts of cruor, but technically you could complete any empyrean solo assuming you had enough time and cruor.

Hey carabosse is a bit trickyier to brew! Also: Maybe he's using brews on other stuff? Just putting it out there.

But putting together a run if you have brew isnt very hard at all, you just need a dnc, blm, thf, with you being the thf or dnc. Probably dnc/sam is best.

Spend 30 mins capping amber solo outside pt while thf + blm cap azure together. Once done reform and cap pearl on VNMs.

Mass slaughter enemies for TEs+ KI drops for popset. Get a popset for all three of you, then brew 'em all down. Easy as pie.

I am probably going to do this with my dnc on iron giants to get my iron plates, hopefully can get some decent progress towards empyrion harp.

......................You're fucking kidding me right? You cant find one friend to help you with carabosse? i did 14>50 gems in 3 days(this is casual farming like hour and a half each day lol) with little effort. come on man

Depending on the job you're using carabosse is not an ideal mob to brew (not that you should be brewing it in the first place lol). I remember my friend brewing them on monk with smite cause he wanted to knock out his last 10 or so gems really fast and he only got through 2 and 3/4 or so of them before it wore off because of the amnesia and tp reset and all that other jazz.

Also, I remember Malacite saying he is saving his brews for Isgebind.

I agree but sadly if someone was going that route for some retarded reason then what he posted was semi relevant. If I was Malacite and had only gotten 14 gems in the last 6 months then I'd probably consider it. That or quit the game.

I wish I was. I usually end up in 1 of 3 scenarios:

1) They don't even have the right jobs needed
2) They don't respond
3) Don't want to/are doing other stuff


A couple people in my LS are starting to get into this and I've asked a few others as well, just can't ever get any concrete regular group going. I'm only adverse to duoing or soloing because I hate wasting time farming triggers just to miss the KI and then have to waste yet more time farming more triggers (that & lengthy carabosse fights are mentally draining -_- )

Fuck you everyone who's calling me bad though. And yeah I do have a lot of people on my blocked list lol, mainly the holier-than-thou nerds.

Malacite, in all honesty and sincerity, just find 2 or 3 people that want to do a fucking weapon and team up. It'll take a week or two tops and you'll finish three of them.

For the record with carabosse KIs, I did 2/3 of my gems for Caladbolg 2box with MNK and WHM and I only had 3 red stagger WS covered. Yes it took longer to get the KIs but I hated the idea of switching jobs and redoing atmas everytime so I just killed 2-3 flies and baba yagas for each KI. Yes it took a little longer but I still did it in a matter of a few days of light farming.
