I loved DQ and BOF4 etc. Completely different types of games but both awesome. DQ had this great "conservation" feeling going for it, where you felt like you had to intelligently use all of your resources or else you weren't going to make it out of there alive. Plus the boss fights were typically amazing, especially the 3 stage one halfway through the game and the Regents at the end.

Probably opening up a whole new can of worms here, but a lot of people seemed to hate FF13 for the same reason: that it was simply so different compared to the rest of the FF series. I loved that too so idk, maybe I'm just more receptive to change?

At any rate, give me new BOF NOW.

I'm in the camp that really loved DQ. I also loved the rest of them too. I'd really love to see a return of the BoF series. Keeping my fingers crossed they make my dreams come true! C'mon Capcom, you can do it!

I liked DQ's story, just can't get over the gameplay. I'm not much of a tactical RPGer.

I already miss the solo fight vs Barubary in BoF2

In BoF3, I used to go all out vs Garr the first time till I found out I was supposed to lose. Then later on you get to relieve that fight back in the dragon graveyard.

Yeah, with the latest update to the imagery on the teaser page, I'm leaning more towards the "not BoF related for sure" camp. On the plus side, given that kind of visual fidelity, I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say that whatever it is is probably PS3/360.

Dragon's Dogma is an open-world action game from Capcom

Announced during Capcom's Captivate event – in Miami this year! – Dragon's Dogma is billed as "a unique action experience that blends exciting and fulfilling combat with the freedom to explore and interact in a rich, living and breathing world." Oh, that world is also "open." Your party of three must "track down and destroy a mysterious dragon," but there will be plenty of other critters to slay on your journey.

It shouldn't be a surprise that Capcom is tying DD's lineage to two of its most successful action titles; the press release says it's from "the creators behind some of Capcom's best action games" including Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 4. The new game is being built on an "enhanced" version of the company's already impressive MT Framework engine (think: Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2) and will track down and destroy your Xbox 360 or PS3 some time in 2012.

Not disappointed, I just have a feeling that the magic is probably lost anyway and I'd love to keep my memories of the series being great fully in-tact as much as I would like a new awesome BoF game.
