I have no problem with any rivals, as long as they stay rivals and not become annoying playable characters. Would be neat to see Knuckles as an antagonist in Sonic 3 levels, and what was the uhh.. cowboy lookin' cat's name from Sonic Triple Trouble?

Just leave them as boss battles.

definitely like how the classic play looks in that preview, I don't care much for the full 3D world crap that is trying to mimic adventure, which I don't think they'll ever be able to bring back that feel again.

It's as simple as that: both Toys R Us and Amazon are discounting Sonic Generations pre-orders prior to the game's launch on November 1. For $37.49, you snag either the Xbox 360 or PS3 version at Toys R Us; Amazon is only offering the PS3 version, oddly enough.

Of course, this sale is a dangerous proposition: on the one hand, you can get a game when it launches for pretty darn cheap. On the other hand, the nature of the marketplace dictates said game will fall in price soon after it launches. So is this worth pouncing on now or should one wait it out? Decisions, decisions ...

TRU has been doing this for a few releases to match in-store promotions. The most recent example being Fifa 12: if you buy it in the store, you get a $15 gift card. The preorder cost of Fifa 12 was 44.99. The new Driver was the same way. In this way, you can imagine that TRU is attempting to match some sort of value in the store, most likely getting a 12.99 figurine for free and Amazon is price-matching this(just like they always do).

Edit: Oh I forgot to mention that some people are still waiting for their Fifa 12's from TRU. If you look at the website, it is still out of stock lol.

EDIT: Just saw the Sky Sanctuary gameplay video, that gorgeous looking stage and the Death Egg launching into the sky brought a minor nostalgic tear/goosebump to me! It's so pretty!

Got bored after 2 odd minutes though, I don't see the "joke boss" Metal Sonics... !

The boss battle with metal sonic takes place on stardust speedway, but its not a 'playable' level per se. It's just the background to the boss battle. But it does look pretty awesome.
