Classic looks good, I don't care much for the 3D auto play when I hit a spring.

The shields were awesome. 2D side looks okay so far, 3D side looks like it might as well just be a 6 minute long FMV. I give it two to three more videos before animal friends start popping up and this starts going downhill.
Hahaha I was looking for a word to describe some of the earlier Sonic 3D games (SA1/SA2), I used to call them cutscenes or autopilot, but FMV wins by far!
I noticed the Sonic Rush combo system was dumped in, I suppose this was in recent games as well? Otherwise, so far we've only seen the first stage, I hazard a guess that more anal obstacles will come up once we reach end game (Scrap Brain/Metropolis/Death Egg), but the query here is how would they incorporate it into the 3D side of things (needs to be fast but still challenging/deathtrap)
I hope they really don't fuck this up, but given the track record Sega has with Sonic...
Also I'm glad I'm not the only one that finds the modern mode to be pretty dull. I had more fun raising Chao than I did the actual game.
Oh god I WISH the game would autoplay for me. Unfortunately, since this isn't the case for anything past the second level, I don't have that luxury.
naw thats completely new to me, but I think it was in the DS Sonic Colors. Doesn't really take or give to the game though, just more buttons to press. If anything, its the difference between S+ ranks and A I imagine.I noticed the Sonic Rush combo system was dumped in, I suppose this was in recent games as well?
Ah I've not touched DS Sonic Colours but the combo system used in Sonic Rush was so that whenever you're in the air you simply hit R1 a few times (no skill required!) to charge up your "rush" meter, where you just basically propel/boost forward and smash anything in front of you, as well as giving you an instant burst of speed.
Howcome you want the game to autoplay for you? =p
Its funny that at one point hes not even playing, just turns to talk to the reporter, and the game is still playing and playing well. Autopilot on crack. lol
This happened with both modes but it seems like modern suffers from it the most.
I would have NEVER thought that dude in the GT video was playing the game. Especially since he raises his hands while the Sonic on the screen does stuff, but if you say so lol
Edit: I guess the "I can get a lot of points here" remark and him staring at the screen are clues
Him jumping on enemies while hes looking at you and moving his hand in the Classic level should mean he's not playing it >_>
Which levels are you guys hoping to see in it? I think Star Light from #1 would be a good choice, as would Spring Yard, Labyrinth or Scrap Brain. Basically the whole zonelist from #2 (except possibly Hilltop, never a huge fan) and some Ice Cap Zone from #3 would hit the spot. Possibly some Launch Base too. I will be very sad if Flying Battery and Death Egg do not appearfrom the more recentish Sonics, I'd like to see City Escape/Final Rush/Final Chase etc.
This bitch better have 14 zones like Sonic 3 was originally suppose to have
Oh god. Had me fooled. >.>;
I would like to see Labyrinth and Scrap Brain.![]()
fooled?
I thought the dude in the GT video was playing the game. Seems like its someone hes talking to. lol
gotcha
They said there would be levels from Dreamcast era too.
I would LOVE a Modern remake of Metal Harbor(best non-boss music in the game) and Final Rush(just extend the map a few minutes to account for boosting and call it done).
I'll play this all day er day

Sonic Generations 3DS Appears in Famitsu's release calendar
Portable version has different name from PS360 version, due for release this Winter.
You might have already heard that Sonic Generations is coming to 3DS in addition to the originally announced PS3 and Xbox 360. But did you know that the portable version has a different name?
This week's Famitsu reveals the name for the 3DS version to be Sonic Generations: Ao no Bouken (literally "Blue Adventure). The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are known as Sonic Generations Shiro no Jikuu (literally "White Time and Space").
It should be noted that these names are just for the Japanese versions of the games. At present (as far as I can tell, at least), the English versions are just known as "Sonic Generations."
The magazine lists both versions as the 3DS and HD versions as due for release this Winter.
