I have another question for you. What's this I keep hearing about paying for exp. How do you go about that? Cost?
I would assume that's referring to paying for a spot in an astral burn to get to 30 or something?
Or maybe paying people to let you leech in abyssea because you have no friends?
the latter
Did Hovering Hotpot's location change?
It's come to my attention that getting jobs to 30, then getting abyssea monday will get me a bunch of burned jobs the following weekend because my LS is planning this. So here's my situation looking for advice on how to proceed.
Current job levels (including planned subs needing leveled)
WHM 20 BLM 26 WAR 30 MNK 25 RDM 0 NIN 0 BLU 0 SAM 0 SCH 0 DNC 0
I have 5k. Not enough to buy gear for any jobs to level from x to 30. I want to, however, get as many jobs as possible to 30 before next weekend. Tonight I plan to finish MNK to 30, and then get WHM and BLM to 30 (naked). From then I have NIN/BLU/SAM/SCH/DNC/RDM to get leveled to 30. All of which need unlocked cept RDM.
I have Kazham pass so I can get to SAM and NIN, but only about 50-60/250~ yag necks for utsusemi, I have wg access so BLU is doable. I haven't done anything with [S] zones yet so I'd need to get on that for SCH and DNC.
What should I do next? Take WAR or MNK to Giddeus and attempt to farm some Invisible scrolls for money? Any other ideas for gil? Then which jobs should I unlock first? BLU will be 90, the rest of those 49. The 49's are all subs that will be needed.
Ugh..hard to restart an account hahaha..gil is my biggest hinderance..next being global transportation (which in part relies on gil..see: WG to jeuno/windy for example and tele's..)
*goes insane* sorry in advance I am an avid planner and it's hard for me to not have a roadmap in front of me for things like this lol..
Depending on how your LS is going to xp, there is potential for gil. If they are going to be full farming amber for big boxes there will likely be items they do not want in the boxes (r/e gear that sucks). Usually people don't bother with this stuff (at least the people I play with), but its pretty decent gil if you take it and NPC it. If that is the case, prepare your inventory so that you can hold as much of this stuff as possible. But make sure you don't jack an item someone in your shell could actually benefit from.
Hmm I'll have to ask them what the deal is with that. Hopefully I can nab some stuff. Thing that sucks is I need gil to get jobs from x to 30 to burn with, and getting gil after the fact won't help as I'll only have half the jobs burned. But I guess half is better than none, and then that gil I can use for later burns.
lag double post -.-
Get any one job into Abyssea (war is already 30?) and if your LS is gonna let you leech, leech it to 90, then use the Crour you get to buy Chocobo Blinkers and NPC them for a bit of pocket change. Use that to buy gear/spells for other jobs, then work on them and sub war. Also, if you haven't already, get on your lv30 job and start the abyssea expansion. Talk to Joachim, go to a maw and enter, then warp out. You need to start building up stones.
this is exactly what i intend to do dnc/sam
evisceration (assisting thf) then > sekka >> DE >> meditate >> evisceration > reverse > NFR > striking > rudra.
seems like a ton of damage potential assuming its possible to double darkness, and the mob isnt strong to dark. i really need to learn how to use spellcast
Is anybody still experiencing the "Downloading Data" screen problem? I just warped to Xarcabard and I been stuck at that screen forever. I can however log into my mule.
If you're going to do that, remember your AF3+2 hands. +10 Skillchain bonus is awesome for this kind of thing. It's going to be hard to find something that survives that, though. You'll need to use an NM, and possibly a tier 2. Maybe Bennu? I bet it's possible solo if you have Haste buffs:
Sekka -> Saber Dance -> Evisceration -> Meditate -> Dancing Edge -> Evisceration -> Reverse Flourish -> NFR -> Striking -> Rudra's
3000 (Evisc) + 2000 (Dancing) + ~1600 (Distortion x0.6 x1.3) + 3000 (Evisc) + ~6000 (Darkness x1.5 x1.3) + 5000 (SF Rudra's with crits and sauce) + ~11500 (Darkness x1.75 x1.3) = 32k Damage with above average luck and no resists.
It's important to use Meditate before you need it, so you have max time to melee after Dancing Edge (no 2 seconds wasted from JA usage). You only lose 1 tick of TP if you time it well. Unfortunately, that means your target needs over 20k HP.
