most good synergy synths require high levels of synergy alongside 1-2 high level normal crafts. and since everything is synergy now, there probably wouldnt be any good blacksmithing only synths, meaning you' need 140 smithing (or someone with it) and 100+ or w/e synergy.

they havent done it yet, but i dreaddddd when we have synths that need veteran smithing AND veteran goldsmithing or 140 smithing + 140 goldsmithing + 100 synergy, so far they have been main veteran, sub artistan

Having problems logging onto POL at all. Logged on just fine just after this morning's maint, though XI has been a bit hickup-y. Logged my mule off about 30 mins ago to swap onto a crafting mule, and r0'd out. Got my main back on, then logged my alt off to go onto her crafting mule. Logged out normallyish, but the options for character select etc. didn't come up, had to alt-F4 it. Now I can't get onto POL at all with my alt, though my main is on fine. ftl.

They never said anything about going over the 100 cap on current synthesis, did they? Don't recall them saying that. If they did, my bad, but I'd like to see this.

So I just got Razed Ruins for my Ninja, have 2 atma slots. Razed Ruins + Dark Depths or Razed Ruins + Stout Arm?

If you don't have Apocalypse/Alpha & Omega/Gnarled Horn/Sanguine Scythe already, you should make it a priority, with the latter two being easiest to get. Aside from the fact that pre patch Sobek was spammed for Empyrean items around the clock, you should have no problems just going there and asking to join whoever is fighting purely for the atma. You may even get a Kamome for free, if you don't already have it.

A&O is something I'd imagine most people are willing to not bother getting if it goes out of their way any.

Pair RR with one of those four if you can, otherwise use Dark Depths in the meantime, in lieu of something better.

I have Alpha and Omega but the -25% Health just doesn't jive to well with what I do (almost everything solo or duo). I will never have Apocalypse. I've been trying for GH but most people that farm Sobek will ignore you anytime you ask anything, and building my own popset has been difficult.

Why are GH and Sanguine Scythe so good? I was planning on getting VV sometime soon and just using RR/VV for the most part. I kind of figured GH was for Empyrean owners for the WS mods or something considering Crit hit Rate seems to be pretty easy to get from atmas.

Crit rate is easy to get from atmas because of GH. GH is especially good for Hi because of the 50 agi, but the 30% crit rate also helps out jin. Sanguine scythe is good because it gives 30% crit damage increase, which with the new 100% cap increases damage by a lot. Most of the damage from WSs now adays are from crits.

Apoc isn't hard to get, either watch for shouts for boss/caturae wins you need, or do your own shouts.

The crit rate is why GH is good. For Ninja, RR/GH/AoA is the go-to set of atmas, without AoA/3rd atma, it's RR/GH. I think I did RR/GH/VV for the day or 2 between getting 3rd atma and AoA, but it's been a while, so might have used something else.

That's just some lag on the chat log showing a melee hit damage before your WS damage.

Edit: Though the crappy damage on that RR doesn't help making what i said right...

I was skilling on Pachy's. It was at 1%, it guarded my attack for 17 damage or w/e, decided to WS kill it, dropped pearl. You can see the 2 sec delay I had between the hit and the readying of the WS.

The game has difficulty distinguishing the cause of death between various factors as long as they happen at almost the same time. It's like determining who gets claim. It gets a little random. In the past, I've azured Ephemerals with Paralyze from my mule while meleeing it. I Pearled a monster with a 3000 damage Evisceration the other day, and it was an Altepa mandy so it could have Rubied.

If you're going to try to emulate this, it's easiest to go on BLM and find an emphemeral. Nuke it down to <10%, then stack all the DoTs you've got on it. Time a non-damaging enfeeble on it for just when the death tick is going to happen. If you do it right, you'll get Azure sometimes.
