Random question is random. Anyone run FFXI with ATI's new series of drivers (11.0+) yet? If yes, what is your setting under CCC if not default? I have had flicking issue on Roc's wings, or wyvern mob wings, and bastok flags in bastok market.
Thank you.
Happen to run Windows 7? I recently found out (think it was an official forums post even lol) that Windows 7 uses some drivers 2.0 (sorry forgot the name) and FFXI only uses 1.0. Which is causing the flickering. You can downgrade to 1.0 on Windows 7 but you lose Aero and of course other games get downgraded.
I just learned to live with it.
Sorry I don't, but it isn't Aero causing it, it's some driver set that needs to be downgraded, once downgraded, Aero won't function.
Google for the win:

It's not something specific to my PC. I've seen the exact same bug with FFXI on many different PCs with various graphics cards. After some testing I've found that It's actually caused by Windows Vista and Windows 7 forcing applications which use a pixel shader version lower than 2.0 to use 2.0 instead ( FFXI uses Pixel Shader and Vertex Shader 1.0).
You can however force ATI's graphics drivers to be limited to a specific pixel shader version regardless of what the video card actually supports using the pixelshaderversion and vertexshaderversion registry values. When the video card is limited to Pixel Shader and Vertex Shader 1.0 the problem completely goes away. Although this is hardly a "fix" for the problem because it limits *all* applications to Pixel Shader and Vertex Shader 1.0 and disables Windows Aero (as well as any games that need pixel shaders and vertex shaders higher than 1.0)
sigh... old game is old.... thank you.
So, hi. I'm in need of help, badly.
As a forewarning, I realize part of this is my fault. If I can recover my account, I'll take all precautions from now on to make sure it doesn't happen again.
Basically, I have Ihina has my main account. I have two other accounts, mules. One of them is named Jezebelle and as of two weeks ago, I find myself unable to log into the account. It tells me the playonline password is incorrect, even though I have it auto-saved in the settings. Obviously, it has been hacked. The problem is, since it's an acquired mule, I don't have the necessary information needed to retrieve the account. I tried calling them multiple times and they told me since I do not have the information, I'm locked out of my account and it's practically lost forever. Basically, I'm completely screwed.
My CC number is on it, I have the reg code, it's linked to my SE account and I have the one-time password button thing linked to that account.
Is there anything else I can do to try and get my account back?
You can't contact the original owner?
Negative. He's not responding to my emails.
The best thing you can do is call and have your CC unsubscribed from the account, so at least you cannot be billed.
You could also get angry on the phone and request a supervisor and explain how can you be billed for something you do not have access to. You could leverage this to try to get the login details.
Maybe this will help you, you can possible get some of this together to pass their stages:
Agent Stephen H: However, one cannot recover a password with just the "unchangeable stuff" i.e. name/Date of birth/registration codes.
Agent Stephen H: There are more pieces of information required for account verification
Agent Stephen H: As I had asked you to verify the account, that is the same for a password reset.
Agent Stephen H: If you change the information from group 2 of verification which is 3 out of 4 of the following name/dob/address/phone number then one of the users claiming the account cannot have the password reset through normal account verification
Name: can i ask what group 1 is?
Agent Stephen H: POLID, REG CODE, CC INFO
Agent Stephen H: you need a minimum of 1 of those
Agent Stephen H: In total you need 6 pieces of information verified
Name: so if the POLID and reg codes are provided, it can be reset?
Name: because that is the issue, those are known and unchangable by both parties
Agent Stephen H: no
Agent Stephen H: you missed the point
Agent Stephen H: In total you need 6 pieces of information verified
Agent Stephen H: you need to pass group 1 to get to group 2
Name: perfect.
Name: thanks for the explaination
Agent Stephen H: if you have 5 out of 6 from group 1 and 2 and still need one more then you can use email address, character names, registration date.(group 3)
Did you even read my post? I know both those things. I said hypothetical and assumptions.
Thanks for the one post suggestion of WHM BLM RDM BLU NIN BRD... anyone have other input or agree with that combination?
EDIT: Original question was...
"Hey guys, entirely hypothetical question that requires a few assumptions, but I'm interested in asking.
Assumption 1: The level cap is still 75.
Assumption 2: Any level capped missions (like CoP) are still level capped.
What would the best arrangement of jobs (main and subs) be for 6 new people starting out to do everything in this game storyline wise (Missions, Zilart, CoP, TOAU, etc.)? They can only take one to 75."
could someone restate the proper atmas for cataclysm and sanguine blade? I want to put them in my notepad so I never have to look again.
Also just some basic equipment (i'm guessing martial staff for cata and +10% ws dmg sword for sanguine blade?)
I've set up my PS3 DS controller to work with FFXI, but the camera is too sensitive, to the point where shaking the controller will move the camera. How can I tone down the sensitivity?
THF Evisceration, anything better than Lithe Boots (in/out)?
THF Evisceration, Nifty Mantle vs Forager's Mantle (in/out)?
Anyone have the link to newest map pack .dats that includes Abyssea zones?
Search for FFXiPadConfig on your computer in the folder ToolsUS (or EU if appropriate, doesn't matter at all). Make sure your controller is plugged in, then set the camera controls for (left?) analog stick. I don't know that it'll tone down the sensitivity, but it will change them.
Any idea if this could also be causing my "display adapter has stopped responding" errors? FFXI seems to be the only thing that causes it, and it's getting really annoying since it loses "full screen" every time the adapter resets so Windower crashes, despite my computer working fine 3 seconds later.
