Someone said it can still fulminate, mist and dreadstorm. Also, it can turn to do lithic breath if it levels up. There's some good info in final form magian thread on it. There are some posts in there talking about tanking it from the side.

So I just reactivated and bought my girlfriend the Ultimate version of the game so she can give the game a shot. But I'm on Shiva which Alexander is being merged into. Talked to the Gold World Pass NPC and he wouldn't give me a world pass and I've read a thread saying someone couldn't create a character on Shiva on their own. I assume this is for server merge name protection or some such thing. But what are my options? Do I have to tell her to create a character on Alexander and play that until the May update merges her to Shiva? Or is there some way for me to get myself a world pass?

Soo, bit of a story here: I was playing around on my second character, she was out in Sauromugue Champaign and got disconnected (so did my main char, I logged them both back in promptly). I then tried to move her into Port Jeuno and she disconnected again, mid-zone. Now I can't get her to log back in at all. First I get hit with those stupid "character already logged in" messages, but once that goes away and I try to log in, it gets to the "downloading data" screen where it stays there for a minute and then disconnects again... Anyone else ever encountered this problem? I literally just had her in Port Jeuno not even 10 minutes before without error.

I had a similar issue, just with one character, I could even log into a mule on the same POL id and get into the zone that was locking me on my main. Contacted a GM, they said it was my ISP and suggested I flush my dns cache (start > run > ipconfig/flushdns) and try again. I thought he was full of shit, but after another 15 minutes of unsuccessful retries, I did that and it worked.

Grain of salt, YMMV, who knows if that actually fixed it, or something else, but it's something to try.

How do I fix my windowers recast plugin to display addle/perfectcounter/impetus/ect as their name and not "unknown ability/spell"?

Also I have never don't limbus or the areas you get the ancient beast coins so I was wondering as a rdm or mnk is it a viable solo to get them? I am doing CoP with a static and we are approaching that point where we can do it and needing a brutal/loq/boxers and having little cash I'll need to farm up the 200+ coins and wanted to know a good way to do it.

Unfortunately, for some reason you can't create characters on the servers that are going to be merged-in either. So she won't be able to create a character on Shiva or Alexander. Your two choices are:
1) Forget about the world-pass, have her create a character now on one of the 8 servers that isn't involved in the merger at all, and pay $25 to transfer her later.
2) Do nothing at all until after the update, and then get your world-pass and have her start on your server.

Alternately, you could probably let her create a character on one of the non-merging servers now just to screw around with the game, and then delete that character and do option 2 after the merge.

Will fighting Dhorme Khimaira and/or Apademak from behind restrict them to using Plague Swipe in a similar manner that fighting Alfard from behind restricts him to Serpentine Tail?

Will still use Dreadstorm and the mist move at least.

Most people tank it on the side and as long as you have good stunners it's not that bad a fight, it's when you fail to stun and it levels up that things become 'interesting'.

Recast uses an old resources.xml method which requires manual updating.

Orison Pantaloons +2, Cure Clogs, Aceso's Choker and Light Arts will give you -47% cure casting time, leaving you needing 1 merit to cap. You'd need maybe Loq earring and the fast cast ammo piece to cap it without resorting to merits so it's more than a couple of pieces

You should have the fast cast pieces anyways for all those spells that are not cures. And you do not need 50% cast time reduction for cure V, the breakpoint is 37% or something like that. If cure 6 needs more than 41% then a cure cast merit or two to push you over its breakpoint when you are /blm would be fine if you ever /blm. Maxing cure cast is pointless though.

Do the gorget properties only work on the main modifiers? Example: Camlann's Torment is Light/Frag, so could I use a Light Gorget/Belt for it, or do I need to use Breeze/Thunder instead?

Light skillchain is not light. Transfixion skillchain is light, Light skillchain is light/flame/breeze/thunder.

I can usually hold about 6 at a time pretty easily with that setup.

I've been toying with the thought of subbing RDM while doing this for phalanx since they only hit for about 20 damage as is, but getting it back up could be near impossible with a dozen mandies beating on you.

Sub DNC, get 2 or 3 regen/defense/PDT atmas (I used Vicissitute, Stronghold, and AoA because I don't have a good 3rd, but I think Mounted Champion is a good choice), grab a bunch of pachypodium in Tahrongi, keep retaliation and defender up, receive skillups. I can usually hold about 6 at a time pretty easily with that setup.

I haven't tried it after Apademak levels so I don't know if it prevents Fulmination, but for the short time I tried it, it did favor Plague Swipe. I don't think it restrict him to it 100% though if memory serves, but I might be wrong. You don't want to back tank him though. For both D.Khim and Apademak you want to side-tank, makes the fight a lot easier. Just don't let Apademak level at all and he will not use Fulmination.

For spear, regen atmas, quint spear, retaliator, mandies @ <insert abyssea zone here>. Do the same type of skillup on your dagger, regen atmas, war, retaliator, mandies, then do the weapon weakness limbus zone on nin/dnc. Can use twilight dagger on war and nin, or just get a shitty AH dagger for skillup/lumbus if no twilight.

Can anyone point me to undeniable proof that blue magic MUST land in order to proc? Have a shellmate insisting with 100% certainty that they've procced 1k Needles multiple times when it "failed to take effect" and I'm calling BS.

Yeah, they're wrong. I might be attributing this wrong, but I think Nynja showed it with Threnody ages ago in the Weaknesses thread.

Interesting side-note, but the other day I'm pretty sure the proc on Orthrus was Bio II, and it wouldn't proc until my Dia 3 wore off. Could have just been bad luck on all the other casts, but I was keeping Dia 3 on it and as soon as it wore off we got a proc with Bio II.
