I also carry an Emnity set for Provoke etc. but that and the above is all you really need unless you have specific sets for proc weapons, don't need Aggressor sets for most stuff inside Abyssea except for skilling up.

Your tanking gear is pretty much the same as your dd gear. I throw on ultion mantle when PD is up then switch to atheling when its down. Acc helps counter land so just basically use your DD gear.
Dont use Asurans in abyssea, Backhand blow<ascetics fury< smite in terms of usefulness in abyssea.
Yes cataclyms is worth it. Can aoe kill for time/Ki's with right atmas you will do 1700-2400 to multiple mobs.
Vsmite just stack str/att/acc.

Do Ermit Imps in Abyssea - Uleguerand use Frenetic Rip? I figured RR would help breaking horns but I haven't seen a single horn break in several kills now.

Mobs normally found in Aht Urghan that have "mode changes" (Qutrub, Imps, Wamouracampa) don't have those same mode changes inside Abyssea. If you're trying to learn Frenetic Rip, Cannonball or Spinal Cleave, you gotta do it outside Abyssea.

Gullycampa still curl up I believe, but do so far less frequently to the point with the exception of Granite Borer you probably won't see Cannonball.

I wasn't able to get them to curl at all when I was doing my spells three weeks ago or so, so I just went and got Cannonball while I was getting Exuviation.

Bummer, thanks a lot though. Soloing imps with Atmas/Cruor buffs is a lot faster as a gimped 78 BLU (gear and spellwise).

Anyone done M5-2 (Shadow Lord fight) recently? Mainly curious if it's just me, or if SE accidentally the whole pre-fight CS for it. Did the mission twice in the past couple months for rank progression, and both times initiating BC threw me right into the battle. ;/

yes. other day i had t3s for each of the scars zones at the same time.

In regards to MNK, AF3+2 body is going to be better Impetus or not unless in very extreme conditions. I stopped bothering with Loki's long ago.

In regards to NIN, Loki's is for Blade: Hi only (not Jin) and perhaps in some highly uncommon situations for melee (which you already outlined), although AF3+2 body is probably a strong contender against it and likely better outside of Abyssea in any situation.

This was posted early in the thread about mnk:

The difference is very slight but Moten's spreadsheet places Loki's just above Tantra+2 when Impetus is down without Stalwart's. With Stalwart's the difference becomes much larger (in favor of Loki's).

And that was before crit damage was uncapped.

Nearly any TP situation where Loki's would beat AF (which is basically only when you have BRD with +1 hand and/or +3 march horn), Emp+2 would destroy Loki's.
