Have a old EU account, going to give it to a friend to play, now tell me if this is correct or not.

I can change the password on an EU account through US POL, just not the CC info. Correct? I don't quite remember o.o

Also, if my friend did want to change the CC, he would just have to download the EU POL. Correct?

It's not so much a case of them overwriting I don't think. I have both EU and US POL on my PC, but I put the NA one in a separate folder, so the game launches via EU (my main's region), but I have the US one there if I need to update any info on my second account (which is NA region).

edit: I used to use haste in legs and feet slots, but that's a lot of dark skill since drain and aspir seem uncapped now.

Nashira Body is more skill, 1% less haste.

You can get a dark skill augment Elite Beret from Meri_S ANNM, but unlikey to compete with 5, 8% haste heads.

Dawon can be tough if you approach it in the wrong way. There is hate reset anytime a Claw Cyclone lands, so you want an evasion tank (ideally two evasion tanks) for this. It becomes annoying because he spams while Perfect Dodge is up. NIN THF BRD WHM should be able to do it without too much trouble (use Mambos), or maybe try kiting when he does that?

You can't kite dawon. Hell, you can't even pin him very well. He's got like flee+ movement speed. Moves so fast it looked like he was teleporting sometimes. And I don't lag much.

But, anyway. Eva tanking sounds good. I've also heard that an Ochain PLD solo'd him, but I haven't tried that yet. Feels like I still need more wind resist.

If starting from scratch..which job is going to be the easiest to gear up and level? I'm assuming healers or tanks for leveling still, but what about gear wise? My RDM had like a billion sets of gear..but rdm is my fav. Lemme know.

I was also just planning on putting up my Seeking flag whilst semi-afk. But you still think I wont get invites to abyssea?

idk on your server and if you want to spend gil, but there is /sh for selling leech pos in cleave burn PT, get your pos then once it start you just afk.
if people dont charge a lot you can get gil back just buying items with cruors you get in pt and npcing them

Whm should be pretty easy I think... both in being useful, pts, and I can't think of any extremely expensive buys that are must-haves. Main wep is trials, armor is blessed/af3/other cheap AH stuff or drops, and spells are cheap.

I had considered the earth M.Acc staff for BRD back at the 75 cap. Terra's is plenty good enough for Abyssea content, I wouldn't even consider it now. If M.Acc becomes relevant again with the new content, it may be worth a second look.

I did the earth and light macc staves on my brd, just because it is better than HQ staves. Of course, you don't notice the extra macc at all. However, the macc staves have the extra benefit of -12% recast, which makes the light macc staff very good for whm, among other jobs.

With that said, they're all a pain in the ass to make and probably not worth the trouble.

Only reason I ask is because I was NOT getting -100% today with DG/EW and gear. Where as I am when I use Heavens or Lion.

So, I downloaded ffxi ultimate collection on steam so I could get the reg codes for my alt. However, downloading that caused it to overwrite my old ffxi files (I'm assuming--I was never prompted with a "this file already exists, replace?" message, so I'm hoping there's still a chance the old files exist).

Upon logging into the game after that download, I found all default settings and worst of all no macros. Sure, most of my stuff is done through windower script macros attached to buttons and spellcast, but it's still going to be a bitch to fix if there's no way to recover.

Has anyone else had this issue and found a way to restore old macros?

How did you install the game previously? Steam uses a different install path than via discs. If you used discs previously, you can copy the USER folder in the original directory and paste it into the Steam install folder. I'm not home at the moment, so I can't give the exact paths. Hopefully someone else here can specify.

Other than that, if you haven't backed up your macros with the in-game command, I think you're hosed.

Yeah if you begin a Steam installation it will kill off your original FFXI installation and be unusable. I think your original User folder would still be intact.

Haven't had to do it for a very long time but iirc:

Open C:\Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\USER\ and find the character folder relevant to the macros you want to transfer. I did this by checking the mcr.ttl file in each folder in notepad. This will display the macro book names for that character (ie: when i see 'brd', 'thf', 'nin' in a mcr.ttl i know that folder is relevant to my alt character). Then you need to find out which folder is the desired destination and copy/paste the contents over.

Never been able to make sense of the hex folder names directly ;\

Anyone know a means of having FFXI not rape keyboard input when running it windowed besides switching to Windower?

Been trying to play other games windowed lately during downtime, but SE's competent programmers think that FFXI should have priority on the keyboard even when it's inactive, which for me means playing an FPS and having my guy keep running in one direction for a couple seconds even after letting go of a key. Mouse movement and gamepad seem unaffected though, just clicks/key presses, most noticable when holding a key for a couple seconds.

You guys cant really think about it from his perspective. With two stones and 0 experience he wont even be able to reach a camp in Altepa I bet.

I don't see how its 'hard' and how he can't reach the camp.
