Anyone able to post some SMN sets that I should be building towards? Still leveling SMN so it's not exactly 90 yet. Also where should I dump my merits into?
TP:
Masa/Rose//White Tath
Unkai +2/Unkai/Brutal/Centaurus
Unkai +2/Dusk+1/Rajas/Hoard
Tactical/Bullwhip/Unkai +2/Ace's
WS:
Masa/Rose//Thew
Varangian/Gorget/Brutal/Centaurus
Byrnie +1/Heafoc/Rajas/Pyrosoul
Unkai/Anguinus/Unkai +2/Unkai +2
If zerk up, use Twilight body/str ear/ele belt on WS instead. YMMV as to anguinus vs ele belt on zerk down, they end up pretty close to the same.
Atmas: SA/Apoc, 3rd atma use A&O if you don't mind the HP hit, RR if not. VV beats RR/A&O if you need it to finish out your 5-hit.
MNK and RDM (+BRD dualbox) in Salvage, goal is final boss, doing Bhaflau Remnants, no Emp weapon, does MNK still need /NIN? Regardless of SJ, fulltime counterstance? Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
Considering price of a stack of 12 toolbags of shiheis at 150k and considering crafts= alchemy 9 and WW 0, would it make sense to powerlvl through them to mass hq shiheis and hope in a good revenue?Prices are ragnarok based, I'm not sure on materials but they surely don't seem to come to a break-even, it seems quite a nice profit with HQ...(according to ffxiah is a profit also when not HQ but still...)
got some mils stored but wanted to not waste them in crafts but this seems like a good thing to do, opinions? my best craft is cooking 10 so as you can see never bothered on crafts.I hate and despise fishing by the way, so that might skew things. Also considered doing ww for synergy if it's worth.
opinions in general?
Merits: 5/5 MAttk, 5/5 whatever else but Physical Attack, I mixed between the accuracies. 5/5 Heavenly Strike, whatever else you want. I did 1/5 in all but grand fall, 2/5 in windblade.
As for gear sets: You want 4 big ones, Perp, Magical BP's, Physical BP's, Wards/siphon. You also want a BP delay down.
Perp you want af3+2 feet/body/head. Nashira hands if it's not the same day as the avatar/not carbuncle. Carbuncle mitts. Augur's Legs/refresh subligar. Evoker's Ring. Moonshade earring if you haven't used it for something else. Caller's Pendant.
Magical BP: Caller's sash, Tiresias cape, af3+2, Pet:MAB staff from TotM, Gifted Earring, Eidolon Pendant.
Physical BP: Same as above, sans sash/staff. Swap staff with Soulscourge. Add Sacrifice Torque.
Ward: Anything with +skill. Only exception is af3 boots for siphon.
Delay-: Caps at -15, Yinyang Robe/Misc. Relic pieces will cap you.
If you just buy the AH mats then NQ is only slightly better than toolbags at a 10k cost. HQ tiers are 11, 31, and 51. 11 is fairly pointless for this endeavor, so you'd be looking to get WW to at least 60, 80 would be best. I've taken WW to 60 a few times and can tell you it's not that bad making an asston of arrows and selling them for a decent price. Beyond 60, I have no clue but doubt it is as easy. At WW 60 you'll HQ about 25% of the time which will normally be 66 shihei not 99. So, I guess ignoring the 5% chance of break you'll profit about 4000g every 4 synths.
If you also want to skill alchemy so you can HQ your own black ink that will of course raise your profit margin drastically but at the same time shoot your opportunity cost sky high. An old WW friend used to spend entire days HQing the paper, ink, and ultimately shihei.
What most non-crafters do not realize is the massive time sink that goes into crafting and the gil invested into skilling. The wait time between synths adds up quick, not to mention running around for mats and the inventory cluster fuck that ensues.
Here's what I'd recommend:
1.) Find a friend with WW and every few weeks supply him with mass ingredients to synth for you. Store the extra stacks of shihei. TIP HIM when you're done
2.) Skill WW to 60, deal with T2 HQ and just buy mats
3.) Suck it up and deal with it because the hours you spend not synthing or skilling you can make up the gil difference.
WW past 60 isn't that bad. You will need bonecraft 60 though for kabura's which is an easy 12 levels. Lancewood logs are also easy and with adaman ore being cheap(300k a pop when I leveled mine and logs 400k each).
The alternate route for lushangs is the hardest part but I think with more realistic prices its not that bad.
WW is probably one of the cheapest crafts to 100 and although it doesn't have money synths like some crafts, shihei and arrows are always money.
Masamune has 437 delay like Amanomurakumo. That TP setup still requires Store TP merits. That gives you about 21.0 TP per hit, meaning you need 16 TP on WS. Then you'd only need to WS in Rajas, Rose Strap, and Brutal Earring. Or Pyrosoul + AF3+2 legs instead of Hachiryu Haidate + Rajas Ring. Lose 5 attack on WS, but much easier (and cheaper) to obtain.
For Amanomurakumo users exclusively using Kaiten, I think this means you can just WS in Brutal Earring + Rose Strap (STP+7 on WS). Of course, the ~2STR you gain by using Hachiryu Haidate + Pyrosoul Ring over the above case doesn't beat Masamune anyway...
Nobody knows what DRG AF3+2 pants do to Soul jump. Before I test my theory that Soul Jump sheds hate like High Jump and AF3+2 pants increases enmity loss like Wyrm brais, does anyone have any input? Im going by anecdotal evidence where I've done a 4k WS then soul jumped and the mob stopped hitting me.
Dunno about 360, but I bypass it with my PS2.
My COR is pretty meh until I finish the trials(fucking Hovering Hotpot can diaf atm) so unless you're interested in seeing my meh gearsets, generally for COR from what I've read you'll want
1) Ranged TP with enough Store TP to x-hit(Varies on what you have access to + SAM roll)
2) QD set, consisting of AF3+2, AF+1 helm and other MAB gear
3) magic acc QD set for Light/Dark shot
4) Wildfire WS set
I can take the time to write up what my average set is gonna look like if you want between these long ass PH respawns.
I thought I read this was fixed in the update notes long ago, but it might have just been wishful thinking.
When crafting a broken rod back together (or any other synth for that matter) can the materials still be lost if another player performs an action on me (cure, warcry, etc.)?
I'd say counterstance full time is pretty much standard as /nin (but even as /war I do it when I got good healers behind in salvage), should be pretty painless with /nin, but I guess /war might work.
Another question: doing almace trials, I have to main hand the sidesword for nm credits or I can offhand?
Can also use Zelus Tiara to maintain capped haste and still keep the 5-hit.
Those atma are also good. Personally I find myself using RR/GH/Apoc more often though. Despite this setup not benefiting WS as much(SAM WS don't crit), I find it to do wonders for melee and quite fun on /MNK (and not /war for red procs).
Dropping Unkai head for Zelus isn't a drop-in replacement. That's a loss of 8 STP * 4 swings, so it would require an extra 32 STP on WS to not break the 5-hit build. The alternatives aren't particularly pretty either; goading instead of bullwhip w/ zelus still requires an extra 12 STP on WS, for a net gain of 1 haste. Carbonara is only 8 more STP on WS, but then you're losing out on 2 STR and 85 attack from red curry buns.
You can probably get away with it in abyssea by using VV, but relying on VV is tricky, since a double/triple attack or extra haste (bard) will wreck your x-hit build.
