Bubbly (Opo-Opo) is true sight.
Im pretty sure the Captain with a successful ranged attack counts for the bonus chest when you win.
Karbuncle if you are after attachments for gil or just to use, I would seriously suggest just doing the first bcnm. A lot less frustrating and you get a 100% chance at the automaton attachments where as if you do the captain one, the box can be something else besides attachments.
Oh >_>? When i did the first BCNM i think i got an ??? Knife and nothing else. So far Every BCNM i've done has only given me 1 ??? Reward item despite doing the things that i should do to fulfill a second ??? Item x.x.
And yah, I'm doing this for Automaton Attachments to use (not sell), So if the First one is the best one, We'll probably spam that...
Well you kill imp and that box can be a dagger and you get a ??? box from opening ancient lockbox.
So I've been trying to remain as hard headed as possible about the stigma I'm getting on leveling a mage job as a first job on a new account, and it's begun to become increasingly difficult to keep at it. My plan was to get BLM to 90 first for bcnm sake etc, then wh to 90 meanwhile getting SCH and RDM to sj lvl then RDM to 90. The cost of spells is ridiculous! And they are not easily farmed without already having a job that you can use to farm with. Sure I could level up without the spells then come back, but that is less than desirable since useful spells are useful.
So I'm concidering taking up BLU or MNK at this point. BLU's problem is the time involved with gathering spells. BLU was my first job to 75 when it came out so I fully know what it's like. MNK also has the issue of Black Belt..and the item drop rates being changed. So..I mean..in the end I don't know which job is going to be right for me as a first account job. I will inevitabely level all of the above to cap, but getting a new account rolling isn't easy so I need to play it smart.
Thoughts? Opinions?
Knowing that I tend to play even too much and I don't like to deal with random dumbassery like being 40 minutes in a zone with 2 guys that don't even know the abyssites from outside don't pop the VNMS inside aby, or just without aby abyssite resting without reason, would it be an idea to get a 2nd account and lvl a pocket whm? I'm kinda a lazy person, and usually outside ls events is kinda harder to do things, and I tend to be on a lot when isn't event time, I could probably nin+whm screw around with things I'd want but still not sure I want to power a whm through all the beginner things..
would you say is worth the effort or just deal with shouts + wait for events? Also the things bothering me is that I'm not sure how well it would go on my pc I might have to get another platform to make it go smooth, more for "gameplay" than for problems running it, I feel it weird to have split screen or have to tab, would be easier to just place a hand on a laptop or get the gear needed for ps2 at that point...
Bah not sure on this thing rpobably too lazy to do it but give input anyway if possible...
Once you get MNK to 75, BB or no BB you can use it to farm other spells, same goes for BLU. When the update comes you'll need either Kindred Seals to do the KSNM for HNM pops or money to buy the pops if anyone will sell them. BLU you just need spells, mostly. It's not that bad getting them, if you're not terribly unlucky. And it's pretty cheap to gear too (not like mnk isn't either.). MNK would be quickest, given that you wouldn't have to farm spells, BLU would give you more utility. Unlocking BLU is also a pain when you just hit 30. I'd say do MNK to 40-50, farm what spells you can, AU access, BLU. If you wanna trek it out though skip MNK entirely and just go BLU.
I find a second account invaluable. I got a bit lucky in that my friend gave me his account when jumping the gun and going to XIV (and now he's back on XI on an account a friend gave him lol) and so I didnt have to do stuff like running around for zilart/CoP and inherited nice stuff like ass armlets etc.
Having had the luxury of being able to play 2 accounts I think it is worth it but it comes down to you. Will you take advantage of being able to do stuff/being adventurous ennough with your personal duo to make it worth the money/time investment? Are you willing to get in to the routine of controlling 2 characters well? If you can't control both effectively you're hurting yourself really.
How would one get triggers to work on a wired xbox controller on PC?
I've played ffxi for 7 years now, and never ran into this problem before. I just setup a new computer, and I can't get FFXI to load without crashing back to playonline. I have windows 7 64-bit, and an ATI Radeon 4870x2 video card. I already downloaded the windows 7 version of playonline, and i've downloaded the ultimate collection, and all the patches/updates. Every time I hit the play button to go from playonlines FFXI menu into the game itself, the screen flickers black a few times and then crashes right back into playonline, giving me an error message about not initializing Direct3d, and if my system meets the requirements. I've tried a few things I read online to troubleshoot this including: using windower in fullscreen mode, not using windower, updating directx drivers, updating video card drivers, and right before i left for work(which is where i am now), I uninstalled all of my FFXI's and exp. packs. I read that someone had posted that once you update directx, you must reinstall FFXI after you have the up to date directx drivers.
I was wondering if anyone elses uses this same video card, and has problems with FFXI, or knows what the real problem is here, because I can't seem to pinpoint it and it's very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
