Can FFXI be paid for using a prepaid visa card? I have the game on PS2 (though I play on PC) so I can bypass the whole Verified by Visa thing, just dunno if a prepaid card would work or not.

A second account is basically necessary at this point in the game imo lol. I would quit playing in a heartbeat if I didn't have access to a whm or rdm alt. You basically only need to get the whm a sj, lvl 30, and the aby exp packs to get the ball rolling. Probably don't need sky/sea immediately (although loc earring, rajas, etc is a nice bonus).

Redoing AMK for augmented hat, not sure on what to get for augments though. Jobs I have/use are:

Mnk (w/victory smite)
War (w/Ukko's fury)
Drk
Pld (w/CDC)

Im thinking WS damage +2% for VS, but are there any other viable options?

Any good way to skill ninjutsu above 220? I spam when I can on bosses during events but I need to really sit down and do it. Friend mentioned those mobs in the north part of sea which may work but any other good spots or am I just going to spam at events on high level mobs and do it slowly?

I skilled on frogs in Mis Coast. Pretty sure debuffs have to actually proc to get a skillup, so this would be the faster approach. Vicissitude, Mounted Champion, Omniscient, some PDT and haste gear, pop Yonin and pull ~3 frogs. Set up a script to spin the wheel til they're dead, then pull some more.

Works well later on when you're 300+, since higher level mobs give faster skillups.

Gonna be finishing my gun here soon, tryin to figure out what would be ideal setups for Coronach. Is it good to prioritize the ws mods (agi/dex), then ratt/str? or should I focus on capping fstr2 first, then the ws mods -> ratt? or does ratt increase the damage more than the mods, assuming not capped ratt. And how does the corresponding gorget/belt match up to sylvan neck/scout's belt? (13 agi/15 ratt)

1. For Tantra Cyclas Impetus aug, do I need to just have it on for activation or can I swap it in for ws macros?

2. Anyone got numbers on Wildfire's enmity generation, I heard people saying it's around Namas arrow's.

I got the same question for gear. For atma's though, if you're going for highest possible dmg boost, I'm fairly sure it's Smoldering Sky, Lone Wolf, and Burning Effigy atma's would do the most.

Since i guess someone said that griffin claw works for ranged as long as you have a 2 handed weapon equipped how does griffin claw stack up against smoldering or lone or burning ?

I heard best is Ultimate, PW atma, Smoldering sky but at the same time I hear 1 AGI > 1 mab so idk why there is not GH in those. I would say it's some mix of GH, Kirin, Ultimate, Smoldering sky, Lone wolf but idk which three are best.

So I've been trying to remain as hard headed as possible about the stigma I'm getting on leveling a mage job as a first job on a new account, and it's begun to become increasingly difficult to keep at it. My plan was to get BLM to 90 first for bcnm sake etc, then wh to 90 meanwhile getting SCH and RDM to sj lvl then RDM to 90. The cost of spells is ridiculous! And they are not easily farmed without already having a job that you can use to farm with. Sure I could level up without the spells then come back, but that is less than desirable since useful spells are useful.

So I'm concidering taking up BLU or MNK at this point. BLU's problem is the time involved with gathering spells. BLU was my first job to 75 when it came out so I fully know what it's like. MNK also has the issue of Black Belt..and the item drop rates being changed. So..I mean..in the end I don't know which job is going to be right for me as a first account job. I will inevitabely level all of the above to cap, but getting a new account rolling isn't easy so I need to play it smart.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Honestly? I'd wait for the update. The new Kindred Crest fights or even Voidwatch may have tier IV and V nukes in chests. The prices on these have rocketed. I helped a friend farm Bliz IV and we got lucky and got one within 3 mobs but that's not the general experience of people in my shell. I wouldn't be surprised to see these spells appearing in chests soon.

I'd still go for playing the job you enjoy. I know, I know old fashioned. However if MNK is something else you're interested in then its certainly crazy popular right now. So are WHM, THF and NIN.

I actually think Black Belt items aren't going to change that much. Unlike some groups, all of our black belts have come from KSNM99 runs anyway and they're not changing. KSNM99 get easier and easier with each level cap. As these are going to be more popular for a short time I think going for MNK items right now won't be as bad. The keys to whatever you do are a) Abyssea and b) a good linkshell/group of friends.

If you want a job which is quick to level, always popular and will get you to 90 fast but not too expensively you're looking at BRD or WHM.
