Random shit is random. We got an assload of RDM when we did him, decent SMN and NIN, not many WHM.

My question is this: has anyone tested dual wield to see if it works the same way? I would assume it does, but I have no idea, and I don't know how you would go about testing to find out. I assume you could do something with checking tp gained/hit, but I don't know how to calculate all that, I will look into it should this post not help me out though.

    What I really wonder about the job trait itself is, Dual wield 1 is 10%, 2 is 15%, 3 is 25%, 4 is 30%, 5 is 35%.
Lets say each trait that adds 10% adds 102/1024 (9.96%) and each trait that adds 5% actually adds 50/1024 (4.88%)
When you reach DW5, does it add 102 and 50 for each trait leaving you at 354/1024 (34.57%)?
Or does it recorrect with each trait and leave you at like 358/1024 (34.96%)?

I assume items like suppanomimi would just be 50/1024 bonus, nin af1 body 50/1024, etc, but I wonder how the trait really works, or maybe its not divided out into 1024s?
Any information anyone could give me on this would be helpful.

If you're wondering how this is useful/helpful, think of it like this, with twilight belt and full Iga+2 and Iga necklace with haste/marches+3x2 you could be anywhere from 79% delay reduction to 81% delay reduction, depending on how DW really works. I'm curious if tiercel would really be better then iga necklace in this setup, but I cant figure it out without knowing the specifics of how DW works.
(moving from 79.7% haste to 80% haste is more of a damage increase then crit damage +2% with 75% crit rate, assuming the acc on iga necklace does nothing)

Sorry if this is confusing, I tried my best to explain what I need to know (`ヘ´)

/1024 precision on haste values are easier to test due to high recast spells, the consistent results of recast values, and the ability to to increment small values of haste through victory march.

Unfortunately this doesn't apply to attack speed. Calculating backwards from tp gain to delay works, but you end up going through two steps of rounding and stuck with a large range of values that will work. To top it off, you can't do incremental gains. There's only a small set of Dual Wield equipment options in the game. It's possible you could be lucky and some of reduction are on boundary values, but it's unlikely.

Testing with FRAPs is useful for estimates, but not enough for /1024th accuracy. The last option is dolphin-type testing and measuring attack rounds over a long period of time... but even then you're more likely to spot that delay rounds down by 5 or 10 delay, and still not have a margin of error that allows for the accuracy you're looking for.

    Unfortunately, unless you come up with a unique test, there's no good method for attaining attack delay reduction values to a high precision ;

The main issue I had with the fairy was potential adds if people didn't pull it to the conflux. Fucking things don't sleep. And also hate re-set along with stoneskin can cause headaches, but on the whole it's not a hard fight, just really fucking annoying. I'd much sooner fight the tiger personally, but pixie pop sets are like 20k compared to 120k for tiger which influences some people.

And I forgot to ask what I came to ask! How does Zodiac Ring compare to an int/MAB ring for blm/rdm/quick draw?

if you don't suck, then the tiger. Otherwise the fairy. Smiter is in demand but can be bitchy to proc. Its completely random. I've had 3 tigers with yellow and th7+ drop nothing, then the next kill drop 3 rdm and 1 nin. or 3 nin and 1 whm etc.

Question: Did I get screwed out of a free month of FFXI because I resubscribed to FFXI back in March right after POL maintenance rather than before? I was under the assumption anyone subscribed prior to the downtime due to the quake would get the next month waivered, but so far I've been charged for on both April and May now.

It sounds like you got charged for march and may, you can review your payments somewhere in POL.

I've forgotten my password like, twice. But, you reactivated near the end of march, right? You've been charged twice? Should be march/may, then. As they charge you the month you reactivate + the next month when billing comes. I.E. reactivate last day of Jiuly, get charged for july and august come august first.

Just in case you didn't catch this... All you have to do is stop damage (turn your back) when he charges up TP moves and he'll never Perfect Dodge. Makes the fight a bit faster.

This, just don't suck. There is absolutely nothing difficult about popping him, fighting him, triggering !! on him, nothing, easiest body seal mob ever.

There's no difficulty in pretty much any of the body seal mobs. The Iron Giants are the only thing slightly harder than average and 90% of the difficulty is triggering. I'll take a mob I can actually WS on and kill it in under a minute after triggering than having to TP it to death any day. I don't see how "kill a marginally more challenging mob in less time" can be countered by the ever-present arguement of "suck less".

I activated March 4th I believe. Only got a charge at start of April ($40'ish since I bought all Abyssea add-ons), and got another yesterday.

I can't recall their payment system, but perhaps if my April wasn't free that I'd have been charged more than $40 on the first payment?

So you reactivated March 4th and bought 2 Abyssea add-ons? 12.95 +20 =33, assuming no mules. Sounds right. You got charged for march, your april was free.

I bought all 3, which is +$30 in addition to the $13.95 for my main+mule. I think I just have the order in my head backwards, typically you pay for the following month's of playtime right?

When you pay on say, may 1st? You pay for the month of may. The exception is reactivation, if you reactivate ANY time in July, for example, come august 1st, you're charged twice, once for July and once for August.

Is there any simple explanation for why the first character I log in always has a lot more lag/stutter than subsequent ones? I've had to start logging my alt in first so that I can play my main without having to deal with it. I can play 3-4 accounts simultaneously with capped FPS on them all, but the first one that's logged in always has this annoying stutter, especially inside the MH.

Edit: also, is anyone else having issues logging in currently? When I did manage to I noticed there were a lot less people online than is normal for JP prime time, so I assumed there might be something wrong on SE's end.
