Oops! I got the Katanas mixed up in hands while putting them in to ffxiah. The main thing is I doubt I will have the proper atma just like those people, I think getting 2 atma slots would be easy but I'm not sure how easy it would be to get two good atmas to fill those slots. Three atma slots seems really hard to get for someone without a LS, same with things like Kannagi and Eponas Rings. I need to sit down and look through the AF3+2 stuff more to see how much of it I can realisticly get.
Trying to buy AMK add-on for mule. Did it for main when it was on main page, now I can't figure it out. Helpz?
Working torrent for XI? I vaguely remember seeing it stickied on the home page, and didn't see it on a quick breeze through the Links to Useful Stuff thread.
If you have the money to buy a pyrosoul ring and dusk+1 then you have the money to buy the appropriate atma from people, and likewise the money to buy your boss clears from people. Getting those proper atma and abyssites should be a higher priority than getting your optimal gear, really.
With that stuff, getting the gear will be a cake-walk.
For rings/earrings/DW weapons, I'm fairly sure the first item you input is always on the left/main slot, then when you put your second item in, the first slides over to the right/sub spot, and the second is your left/main. At least, this has always worked for me when I try to make sure my Brutal isn't on the wrong ear.
I think if you goof up and put the "wrong" item in first and go to change it after it still likes to switch them back to the original way that you had them, I could be wrong because I don't use it much though.
Good blade Jin setup thats cheap/easy to get?
I dont want to invest a lot of inventory space or time to it but if its something I can get together quickly I would go for it.
Do you need 5/5 to get the AF3+2 set bonus? Or will 2-4 pieces give it with lower potency/proc rate/whatever?
What does the NIN set bonus actually do?
You only need 2 pieces to get the set bonus, the activation rate goes up as you get more though.
NIN set bonus is DA on the offhand.
As far as NIN gear goes, NIN+WHM could solo full+2, provided you worked on atmas/abyssites and got all the good ones first. Most of which you could duo. You can also easily solo kannagi up to 85 with NIN+WHM. Optimal gear sets really depend on whether or not you have a bard, and how much +march that bard has. Without a bard, just get as much DW and haste as possible, remember though that iga earring is only 1 or 2% DW, brutal is better then it. With a bard, get to 80% delay reduction and go from there.
After reading threw the updates I just saw there changing faf/nidd/Beh/KB/Adam/Aspid to force pops (lame). But I was wondering something, there taking out the items for BB from the NQ and decreasing the drop rate on the HQ version for the bb items, but are they removing any of the other drops from either of them? Also for the pop items, the NQ pop items are dropped by KS99 Bcnms, but what about the items for the HQ? Are they dropped from the NQ nms? This seems to be a pretty wild change, does anyone know why they are doing this? Also is this planned for Mondays big update? Thanks for any help everyone.
HQ triggers will drop from NQ's (Nid from faf etc), Changing them, I guess because enough people complained over the years. Any non BB items haven't been mentioned. It's planned for Monday, yes.
The update notes are pretty clear. KS99 will drop at least one (read: possibly more) pop item for NQs. KS99s also retain Black belt items in their treasure pool options. NQs no longer drop Black belt items, but have a chance (read: not 100%) to drop a pop item for the HQ. HQs will have a less than 100% chance to drop Black belt items.
Here's my wife's Jin set:
Code:<set name="Jin"> <ammo>Qirmiz Tathlum</ammo> <head>Aias Bonnet</head> <neck>Breeze Gorget</neck> <lear>Hollow Earring</lear> <rear>Brutal Earring</rear> <body>Iga ningi +2</body> <hands>$WSHands</hands> <lring>Rajas Ring</lring> <rring>Thunder Ring</rring> <back>Atheling Mantle</back> <waist>Warwolf Belt</waist> <legs>Byakko's Haidate</legs> <feet>Iga Kyahan +2</feet> </set>
Nothing should be too out of reach to get. Aias bonnet would probably be the hardest.
*Edit*
Oops didn't realize the variable. AF+1 during Dawn to Dusk, Koga+1 from Dusk til Dawn. Heafoc may be better than AF+1 inside abyssea, but she hasn't bothered to get yet.
Theyre changing them because HNM 21-24 hour pops is one of the horrible horrible parts of this game. The playerbase that enjoys that system is by far the minority, and they are catering to the majority here. Also as others have said, the update notes very clearly describe what theyre doing and when.
Probably wouldn't want to use Heafoc since Jin has an actual DEX mod, so even if your dDex was still capped you'd be losing DMG. The exact #s vary depending on your total STR/DEX values but as standalone pieces AF+1 and Relic+1 are about equal.
[(6*.3)+(6*.3)]*.85 = 3.06 = 3 DMG
(13*.3)*.85 = 3.315 = 3 DMG
Outside abyssea AF+1 gives you a bit of dDex, Relic+1 gives you a bit more fSTR.
