In addition to this question, I used that xml file that someone made that puts a ! after a PH name, and I was camping Charybdis earlier today and the manta that always pops in the water had the !, the 1 that alternates between outside of the door and the water didnt have the !. Is this a mistake, or was the PH always the non-alternating Manta?

So... my character was banned ye old long time ago, and when I tried to make a name on the server (now bismark) with the same name, it says it's not available. So if/when I server transfer, will my name be kept or will I have to reroll (I want to reroll)?

Ah, doh! I marked it backwards. It's the alternating manta, I checked to see which one popped outside of the room and then agroed the nearby Sahagin NM and got my THF/WHM mule beaten up so I didn't get a chance to confirm, I'll fix it now. By the way, you shouldn't re-apply that changeset. Some of the zone's monster IDs have changed, so it would rename random monsters in them.

I'm trying to figure out how to compensate for this without losing the work I've put in, and will hopefully have a solution shortly.

What kind of gear should I be looking at when I level my COR? It's at 75 right now. I remember back when I used to play a lot of people subbed whm and used it as support, but it's changed from then hasn't it? I vaguely remember having a melee tp set with joytoy back at 75 before I quit, was probably doing it wrong though. It's been so long.

COR is great because you can play it so many different ways. In the age of Abyssea, you're going to want to gear yourself up with as much Magic Atk Bonus and AGI you can get so you can spam quickdraw and Wildfire/Leaden to do your best damage.

Personally, I also have a full melee TP haste/accuracy set, which is a ton of fun with M. Kris or Joyeuse. Then some mixture of STR/AGI/Ranged Attack/Accuracy for Slugshot and Detonator WS's. I do not carry a /MAGE set anymore, as I assume if I'm on COR I'm going to be smacking shit.

COR can also effectively be played as a RNG-type these days, with a fair amount of snapshot/recycle-type stuff available for use in your precast macros... Just depends on what you want to do

Quick Question about Bard, does String skill enhance the effect of a song when wearing a stringed instrument, or just the range?
I had always thought that Stringed skill increases range, and Wind skill increases potency.

Skill always increases potency. String skill just happens to increase range as well.

They added a bunch of DC-T mobs now for Grounds of Valor. You could probably do it in one of those dungeons.

Do the bog bodies in abyssea - tahrongi actually use spinal cleave? i've been here for almost 2hrs killing them and not even 1 of them has dropped their weapon

No, normal mobs in Abyssea never change their stance. That means Qutrubs won't use Spinal Cleave (because you need to get a Sword Qutrub, break its weapon and then have it TP move before drawing a second), NQ wamouracampas won't use Cannonball, NQ Gnolls won't use Asuran Claws etc.
