Let me tell you a little story and get your opinion.
Imagine the situation: you sit at your computer, browsing on the interwebs and suddenly you come across a mistake in a url. Correcting that mistake takes you to another website where you have access to a huge amount of information that you probably shouldn't have, lets say, stock reports before they're posted. There is a huge market for this type of thing (Say, for certain statistics to predict stock fluctuation later in the day. Imagine the amount offered. Typically people float this kind of crap for $40k+ for a single day) so there'd be a very clear incentive for a reason to do this. Doing some research, you find out that this is actually a legal use of information because it is available on a website that can be accessed by the public. No hacking or anything was done, you just found out information that normally you shouldnt be able to see.
While this act isnt illegal in itself, you have seen cases in the past where the FBI chased down and charged people for unrelated charges(Such as using a fake username for an email address. no joke. Guy got wire fraud for registering with a name other than his own).
Hammer time, spam. Take the money or just act like you dont have the info?
