    Switching from VZW to Tmobile

I was looking into switching to TMobile from Verizon. I absouletly love Verizon but it seems that Tmobile is ahead of the game along the lines of offering new "state of the art" phones. With the N1, NS and Optimus 2X on the 15th. I looked at their coverage map and saw I have great good coverage out here and where I work at the moment.

How is their customer service and are there any other comments to add from TMO customers?

Might want to hold on that as AT&T pending FTC approval is purchasing TMobile.

I've had literally zero complaints dealing with T-mobile. My only concern with you switching is that I believe AT&T recently bought T-MobileUSA, so I'm not sure what their new contracts will look like.

They haven't bought T-Mobile yet as far as I know. What they did was announce plans for the purchase. There's a whole load of legal jargon they have to go through first.

I can also vouch for T-Mobile. I bought my Nexus S from Best Buy and then joined T-Mobile out-of-contract. I pay about $68.00 a month for 500 Minutes, Unlimited Text and Unlimited Web. So far, I am very pleased.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

<3 t-mobile. I got it back in college and had it ever since without any issues. Best thing is, since I've had it so long, they've given me free phones that normal aren't free with an upgrade just for staying with them lol. (ie. my mytouch normally required a $50 upgrade cost but they waived the fee).

If the only reason you are switching from Verizon to T-Mobile is due to the newer tech phones, I'd suggest looking at the Droid Bionic for Verizon. I'm waiting for one to hit for my next upgrade.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Droid_Bionic

Dual core (2 GHz total processing power), front camera, 8 megapixel camera, 4G/LTE capable (area is growing steady but slowly). Comes out in a month or two, depending on what rumor you want to believe. Also the fact that AT&T will most likely purchase T-Mobile, I'd stay away from a new contract with them. If there are other hidden reasons you want to switch away from Verizon then ignore this

I'm going to Tmo because they have newer tech phones that AREN'T locked down (Bootloader)

System is set to charge your card regardless of the status of your bank account. Sometimes, it'll charge you twice. Want to make a cash payment since you're at a T-Mobile branch? It'll still charge you. It's the only complaint I had with tmo.

One question... How is it their responsibility to keep track of the status of your bank account? Just saying.

It's not but let me give you a scenario. Suppose that I'm going away on vacation but don't want to leave any money in my bank account. I should technically be able to stop by a tmo office, make a payment and not worry about the easypay charging my account while I'm away right? Wrong. If you make a payment, it still charges you. It sounds crazy but that is the way its set up. There's a reason why Chase, BofA and various credit unions tell their customers not to give Tmobile any bank account info. From charging you twice in one billing cycle to ghost charges that appear and then disappear. As a Tmo customer for the past 4 years, I've had my share of headaches. Just sayin.

My personal opinion on Dual-Core phones is that they are simply a really expensive luxury right now (most phones probably are but the Dual-Cores blow everything else out of the water in terms of luxury.) A lot of software (Android included) is still not optimized to take advantage of the processing power of those phones. So, until the next major Android OS comes out I wouldn't think of getting a Dual-Core.

Fair enough. Rumor on the Bionic is it will be $150 with a two-year contract, but again that's just a rumor. If it is actually $250 or more, I'll probably wait until it price-drops as well.

Stay with vzw, ATT buying tmobile is going to ruin tmo. A good phone on a great network > best phone on crappy network.

I've had T-Mo for what feels like forever, and I really can't complain too much either. I never drop calls, service in the city is solid. Suburbs it gets a little spotty, but everyone else's does too.

If you're doing it for the phone, however, I would be careful. I have recently felt like VZ, AT&T, and even Sprint were ahead of the curve as far as newer phones went. I had the G1 and had to wait fucking forever for an upgrade that wasn't ass (MyTouch bullshit, anything Motorola makes) while I watched people trot around their Evos and Droid X's and shit. Finally the Galaxy S came around and satisfied my need for a new phone, but I waited forever. If you're a junkie like me and always want the next bestest most awesome thing...I'd think twice about leaving Verizon. If a big time phone is coming out, it's probably not gonna be on T-Mo. Especially HTC phones, which I have always felt were the best on the market (I'm probably biased, suck it).

Naw tmo is getting a dual core HTC here shortly. I am envious. But they only have edge out in the boonies where I live.

Samsung Galaxy S II, LG 2X, HTC Pyramid...looks like TMO is a dual core powerhouse.

If someone wants a cheap phone plan, Virgin Mobile has a $25/mo plan that has unlimited data, web, and texting +300 minutes, no contract. It's what I'm currently using and no gripes here. Phone is an LG Optimus V. I don't talk on the phone much anyways (could always use wifi), so the plan suits my needs.
