Like the players, many of canucks fans are taking each game 1 by 1. Hawks won the 1st game last 2 times they've met in the playoffs, and we all know what happened. Hawks 1st line can still put pressure on the Canucks. Question is playing 24 minutes, will it start to effect there game play.

Actually the Canucks have won the first game the last two times they've met and we all know how that went. Hence why Sharp is getting taken the fuck out.

The only team I regret not picking in the 1st round is Nashville. Rinne and Preds D could be locked in for a deep run. I was sort of dismissing all the "hey they pushed Chicago to the brink last year!" hype but I think this is the team to look out for in the West.

I think Tampa and Chicago will bounce back and make for a couple good long series, the 'Hawks because of how they played from behind, and the Bolts just because you can't keep their offensive firepower bottled up for long.

Yea I mentioned last night while watching the game to the crew on the sassagecam chatroom, that I should have picked the Preds because I know how they play the Hawks all the time, in divisional games but i went with Anaheim because they have more fire power. They're great at shutting down other teams and really are all about tough defense but oh well, picks are in already, nothing I can do lol.

Hawks need to get in luongo's face more because Lou is getting plenty of space to see shots, thanks to Van's Hamhuis-approved blueline. That was Byfuglien's job and a job he did exceptionally well in the postseason (he and versteeg gone is nearly 30 points of playoff production gone). On the other hand you look at how many posts there were that game, and it could have been a very different story for the Hawks.

Onward to game 2

The Ducks need to get the first goal. Nashville's whole game plan is to eke out a lead and defend it - their defense corps coupled with their goalie phenom can shut games down completely. But, if the ducks open the scoring, it will force Nashville to be more aggressive and stretch their lines out, which should lead to more Ducks scoring. Nashville really doesn't have the guns to get in a shooting contest.
