Atlanta fans care about the Thrashers all of a sudden...
So the Winnipegsun now confirming that their sources are also saying the sale of the Thrashers to TNSE is pretty much complete. Just need to sign the dotted lines, cross the t's and dot the i's, get the board stamp of approval and heeeeeeeeere weeeeeeeeeee goooooooo!
Took a peek at a couple of sports shop today and every single Jets item is gone. One guy bought a signed Teemu jersey for $950. I'll go and get a new jersey once we know for sure what the team name will be.

Best quote that conveys my feeling:
And Happy B-day to Selamis!Ooooh, 200 fans showing up. There's a reason to keep them where they are. What a showing!!! Winnipeg had 3x that many people at Portage & Main the last two nights for 'speculation' of the team coming here, nothing concrete. By the way, in '95, when the Jets were on life support before Bettman & Shenkarow pulled the plug, there was a rally of 35,000 strong, and it did us no good. So to the TRUE Atlanta fans, all 200 of you, we know what you're going through and feel for you, but that doesn't mean it's good business to keep them there. I mean, the town of Riverton, MB (pop:900) would probably have more people come to a NHL team rally!
Ugh, every Goddamn day there's a new "trade Mike Green" story floating out there. I'm gonna let my man Peerless sum it up better than I could. It is hard to come to a clear answer to the question, "deal or no deal?" Some point to his age (he will turn 26 early in the 2011-2012 season) and position, and wonder if there is still an untapped level of performance for a player who mans a position that usually requires a longer lead time to maturity. Others point to his early-career production and conclude that he has peaked in his offensive production, that he will skate along the path of others before him – a drop in production followed by some increase later, but not to the heights of his early years – making a long term, high-dollar contract of limited value, thus suggesting that trading him now is the best bet for the Caps.
Well, the Caps themselves have been down a similar road before. An "offensive," puck-moving defenseman accused of having some issues in his own end, who might not be as physical a defensive presence as fans might like, who had some playoff performance issues.
...
[W]e think the comparison useful, if only to point out the perils of letting a player go – especially at this position – too early. For you see, "Player B" is indeed Mike Green.
"Player A" is Larry Murphy…yes, that Larry Murphy, the one "whooped" out of town, who went on to play with four Stanley Cup winners and who has a bust in the Hall of Fame.
Whoop at your peril.
The Wings will trade Hudler for Green. Hudler makes a lot of funny faces and is a happy guy, I think his intangibles make up for any perceived imbalance in the trade.
I really hope Winnipeg goes through so they could have the worst traveling schedule ever in recorded history.
Wow AV decided to go with Chris Tanev, a 21 year old rookie over Andrew Alberts. D pairing are Bieksa/Hamhuis, Salo/Edler, Ballard/Tanev. Good luck out their kid. Go Nucks!
home from camping, sassages are back up
Tanev is gonna get a goal
I don't understand why Vancouver is playing so undisciplined. They aren't getting outplayed or anything. That charging penalty was fucking stupid to take at the end of the period.
It's individual players not controlling themselves. That Torres hit was kinda iffy to me but whatever. They still got out of the first period without getting scored on. If they can last until the third period they should be able to score 2 or 3.
It's cool we need to kill about 5 more to have a decent % again.
Erhoff isn't playing and Canucks seems to be making way less defensive mistakes. Coincidence?
