Superstitious Sedin.
I really hope the "sharking" thing will go away eventually. This year wasn't so much them Sharking it up but going up against 3 serious cup contenders. Kings had solid D, Detroit had Datsyuk, and Canucks had the equivalent of the Hawks' team last year, AKA god mode everything. Really, really, really want us to get some solid blue liners to be more of a complete team for next season.
Shouldn't have even been a faceoff in their zone, the refs totally missed the fact that the "icing" actually deflected off of a canucks player. Honestly, the reffing in the series was pretty terrible as a whole. But the hockey was exciting, and the better team did win. Looking forward to a Canadian cup now. Go Canucks!
I would agree except Boyle is probably the best Offensive blue liner in the league and is AMAZING on the PP. He fits a little too well in the spectrum of the sharks' depth. Can probably get some of our decent forwards a try on the market, Setoguchi comes to mind. They were contemplating trading him earlier this season so it isn't beyond the realm of possibility.
Trade Heatley. Guy is a fucking anchor after April 1st.
Per ESPN, Thornton was playing with a separated shoulder, owie
I thought Thorton played his ass off and I want to see him win a cup someday. Poor bastard deserves it. If your secondary players had come to play this series would have gone 7 games but like you say if you get some more depth on D SJ could go far. Good series, hope you guys do better next year.
Edit: Thorton with a seperated shoulder. That is a fucking warrior. No one should ever question his heart ever again. Big respect for him.
Joe Thorton played like a beast. Sadly that was about it for the Sharks. Horrible refs for both sides.
'Nucks 4th line didn't play the 3rd or 2 OT's. >.<
Holy shit I just read that Blackhawk great, Stan Mikita has an early stage of tongue/oral cancer.

But that's their job, and they blew the call. Much like they blew the Heatley "offsides" call in game 1 or 2 or whatever it was. Much like they blew the "too many men" call when SJ pulled the goalie in Game 4 and had 6 attackers on the ice. The reffing was absolutely atrocious, by far the worst of any series so far this year.
As someone who has done this in men's league, at an obvious lower talent level, I can say that this indeed is painful as fuck. Especially as a defensemen and going to poke check, it pretty much renders your arm useless lol. Freaking heart of a champion to do that at an NHL level. Jay Cutler could take pointers.
Heatley had 1 pt vs the Canucks, Clowe and Seto had 2, Pavelski had 3. Those seem like fairly low totals for those players. Specifically Heatley.
As I said, a fucking anchor. Guy's never been a playoff performer, not when he was with Ottawa and not now.
Thornton playing against Kesler with a separated shoulder?
Man Points +50.
Officiating so far this year in the playoffs has definitely been noticeably worse than any year in recent memory. Not sure what all they can do to improve the situation since there's a fairly limited pool to pull from, hopefully they can find some decent guys from other leagues to bring in over the offseason.
