So Rome gets 4 games for a "late" hit that was not a headshot, that was not a blindside hit, and caused a "Severe concussion" from the impact of Horton's head hitting the ice during the cup finals, and the two players had no prior history.. But Chara gets 0 games for a hit where he ran a player's head into the stanchion with a much later hit where the result of injury, a severe concussion and a broken neck, were directly resulted from the hit, when there is definite proof of history between the two players...but thats was just a "good strong hockey play gone wrong"

But I'm a fucking lunatic and talking utter nonsense for saying theres some favortism towards Boston players. Yeah, right.

How about the fact that Rome was the victim of a blind side head shot against San Jose, was concussed and couldn't play the rest of the series and the guy that ran him, some shit straight out of junior didn't even get a hearing. Let's be honest, stretcher in finals = 4 games. Also, don't even try to tell me this is the beginning of some new, harsher era of suspensions for plays that injure.

not to nitpick, but horton had the concussion before he hit the ice.....

re watch the hit, his arms were locked up from the original hit... not from the ice

League pretty much admitted the length was based on the injury. Is this the new way of judging suspensions? If so, expect to see players laying on the ice even after a semi-clean hit. Horrible for Rome as it's the worst possible time for the league to make an example. If the league had given Rome 8 regular season games, would people have any issues with that? Hopefully Horton returns next season.

On a side note. What does Gadaffi, Yemen, Syria & the Canuck/Bruins agme have in common? All of these subjects are being covered by Al Jazeera & CNN.

I dunno, its equally ridiculous to think that the league has a hard on for Boston. Honestly, if there really was a problem, you would have to make it so the higher ups never played for any team so you never have to worry about a bias.

I mean honestly, we get it, you still think Chara deserves a suspension, just because he didn't get one, doesn't mean Rome shouldn't get one based on something that has NOTHING to do with this hit.

The best rumor i've heard so far.... is that rome was paid extra money from the team to take out one of the bruins top players.

Watching the hit he doesn't visibly get stiff until he lands (when his head hits the ice) so there is no way to know if the ice/shoulder or some combination actually caused him to go unconscious. The stiff arms is somewhat common in KO's from fighting sports and doesn't really indicate the severity of the KO as some people just react differently to those kinds of things. Either way it was a late hit.

Don't know much about the guy, but seeing his record, might as well start his NHL GM career with a new team coming into the league.

He was one of the main guys helping to manage keeping the Hawks under the cap the last 2 years. Which means half of the players who are currently on the team that just got moved to Winnipeg are probably largely his doing, lol.
