As weird as this sounds, the only reason that there was a game 7 was because of Luongo. The Canucks scored 8 goals in the entire series, and two of those were garbage time game has already been decided goals. Boston played good defense and had good goaltending. If Luongo lets more goals in in games 1,2 or 5 this may have been over in 5 games. Vancouver's offense was pretty horribad all series.

I can't recall a single nail-biter highlight reel save from last night. None of those 37 shots were anything to gasp about. Vancouver had nothing. That's not shitting on Thomas; Thomas earned the fuck out of his Conn Smythe. Last night was not any kind of clincher for Thomas' performance, we all knew yesterday morning.

As Thoronas pointed out, Chara made a pretty good nail-biting save. After his give-away, Burrows had an open netter and he slid in the way to save the shot. It was only 2-0 at time, would have been a huge goal.

So I was wondering if Marc Savard was going to get his name on the cup at all since he didnt appear in at least one playoff game nor 40 regular season games but apparently since he was injured and an exception can be made.

Sadly he won't be getting his name engraved. You need to play 37 regular season games? Or 40, or something like that. Alls I know is he doesn't qualify.

Edit: just looked it up -> either 40 regular season games, OR, 1 playoff game. This means that players that got traded, like Blake Wheeler, will still get his name on the cup.

Interesting facts, Toews only had 3 assists during his Cup run. Sidney had 1 goal 2 assists during his Cup run. I heard between Datzuk & Zetterberg between 52 Cup final games they have 8 goals. Skilled players getting targeted during the finals is obvious.

From what I looked at, it says that Savard can still get his name on the cup because he was unable to play due to injury but was still "on the roster"
