If that was the hit right before the Washington goal, that was carcillo-levels of embellishment.
I tried. Not great with paint and dont have PS.
Kinda crazy that the Flyers have pretty much already demoted Bobrovski (sp? fuck) and gone back to Leighton, Boucher. Probably smart, but at the same time kinda a big fuck-you for the kid who helped them get to the playoffs.
This is nothing new for the Flyers.
I think Sean Burke said it best. The best moment of his career was being traded to the Flyers, and the 2nd best moment in his career was when the Flyers traded him, lol.
I didn't think that hit looked dirty but it looked like an interference penalty to me. I agree with him though that the crowd was not loud though. During the TV broadcast you could barely hear the crowd, they were so quiet I even mentioned it during the game to the guys I was watching it with. Not sure if the sound just doesn't carry well or what but I was shocked it was so quiet during large portions of the game.
and about your previous comment, the Rangers didn't outplay the Caps the entire game. The Caps definitely weren't skating as hard to loose pucks and what not most of the night but I think they were on their heels due to how many penalties were being called and never really got into a good rhythm. Some of the calls were weak, some were stupid penalties. Sucks that there is a two day wait for Game 4 and sucks that I will miss it because it's on Wed.
Possible that MTL virtually eliminate the Bruins tonight, hope it works!
My friend is up in Montreal for a business trip, he posted the other day that he was able to buy tickets to the game tonight. Jealous.
Damn that would be awesome, even if you aren't a Habs fan it would be a blast.
NHL released its reasons why Torres didn't receive further discipline for his hit on Seabrook. I really like that they are releasing these justifications for some of their rulings as it helps everyone understand how the game is "suppose" to be played based on the NHL's rules.
Vancouver Canucks forward Raffi Torres will not face further discipline for a hit behind the net on Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook in Sunday night’s Game 3 of their Western Conference quarterfinal-round series.
NHL Senior Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell issued the following statement after reviewing the hit by Torres that resulted in a minor penalty for interference at 12:14 of the second period:
“When Rule 48 (Illegal Check to the Head) was unanimously adopted by the General Managers in March 2010, there was no intention to make this type of shoulder hit to the head illegal. In fact, at that time, we distributed a video to all players and teams that showed a similar hit on a defenseman by an attacking forward coming from the opposite direction behind the net and stated that this is a ‘legal play’.
“This hit meets none of the criteria that would subject Torres to supplemental discipline, including an application of Rule 48: He did not charge his opponent or leave his feet to deliver this check. He did not deliver an elbow or extended forearm and this hit was not ‘late’.”
Geoff at BSH said it best IMO.
What's important in terms of winning Game 3, though, is that if you start Boosh, you have a shaky, less-than-confident young goalie on the bench should things go wrong. That calming influence that Boucher provided in Game 2? Not gonna happen again. With Michael Leighton behind Boosh, though, you have playoff experience. Veteran experience. That's what you want.
For me, then, it looks like the decision can go one of two ways. You start Bob and keep things normal, or you start Boosh and Leighton backs him up, damn the other consequences. It appears as though Peter Laviolette has chosen option No. 2.
Fucking LOL.26. Quote of the week: "Tomas Kaberle still hasn't played in the playoffs since 2004." That's from series statistician Jeff Girodat. Ouch.
Gah what the shit, Versus is carrying Philly/Buffalo and not Habs/Bruins.![]()
Go Habs Go!
