- Some great world building in this chapter. First in-depth look at the Stormlands, and the Rainwood is immediately interesting as a temperate rainforest, and a by-gone bastion for the Children of the Forest.

- Interesting development with the Sand Snakes. Now we know one of Doran's intentions for sending them to King's Landing: a sleeper cell force to protect against Cersei's apparent assassination plot against Trystane. They also provide Doran with plausible deniability: if it's discovered the Dornish are courting the Golden Company, Doran can claim it's an Yronwood rebellion, as they're stationed in the Boneway, while Doran has officials in KL.

- Arianne/fAegon? fAegon/Elia? Hmm. fAegon definitely wouldn't tempt Arianne physically; he's a rather sexist child, and she prefers bad boys with experience.

Lots of slight exposition for a lot of characters here. Sets a pretty large stage without being completely obvious about it.

The growing contrast between the Golden Company's name and their physical descriptions is a fun interplay as well.

Didn't the passage say that Trystane is back at Sunspear? If KL attempted to ambush the Dornish caravan headed to the capitol, they wouldn't find what they were looking for.

I love the plotting and reveals of the chapter. fAegon has taken Storm's End and Mace Tyrell is leading an army that way. I wonder since Tyrell is diverting his attention from KL, if his daughter has been freed at this point.

I think after I finish my current book, I'm gonna re-read the series from scratch. I'm a fairly slow reader (usually 2-4 months per book), so maybe by the time I'm done, WoW will actually be out.

So Connington captured Storm's End, how do you think he managed it? The castle never fell to a siege and he mentioned taking it by guile, so I'm thinking he tricked the defenders into thinking they were hired by Stannis then putting them to the sword when they got let in.

Yeah, it seems likely they relieved the Tyrells' siege of Storm's End, and the defenders opened their gates to them, thinking them Stannis' host.
